Drama Digest

Jiang Ke Le has had the worst New Year’s Eve ever. With her father abroad, she has no one from her family to ring in the new year. She is fired from her job and also dumped by her boyfriend. So, she has only three wishes for the New year- to get a new job, spend time with her father and get a boyfriend who will love her forever. She receives a special pair of glasses as a gift from her father for the New Year. When she wears the glasses, she is teleported to a perfect virtual world where she finds a group of four love boys, famously called the Y4. All her wishes come true in the virtual world. She falls in love with Lu Xiao. Y4 is a virtual idol group of four perfect boys – Lu Xiao, Xu Nian, Su Lei, and Luo Ke. Boss Xu is the owner of the company that made this virtual world. Jiang KeLe’s best friend Guan Qian Ya owns a dating company that is failing because of the rising popularity of the Y4. She tries the glasses herself to check her competitors but ends up falling for Xu Nian. The story revolves around the romance of Y4 and their little secret which the female leads find out.

The Feel-Good Part

The drama is power-packed with all genres – romance, comedy, suspense, action, and has beautiful leads, to top it all off. The characters are very well written, and the cast is great. The plot twists keep the audience engaged till the last minute. Strong female characters are the highlight of the show.

The Disappointing Factor

Editing could have been much better. There is very less screen time for the third and fourth couple. The episodes seem dragged in the final episodes.

In-depth Analysis

Jiang Ke le is an optimistic and smart female lead. Guan Qian Ya is strong and independent. Their troubles in their real life make them fall in love with the virtual Lu Xiao and Xu Nian and their perfect virtual world. But the virtual world holds a secret for them. They find themselves in deep waters when they find out that their boyfriends are real and held captive by Boss Gu. They help their not-so-perfect real-life boyfriends escape from their evil boss. Granny, who is Boss Gu’s aunt helps our female lead and Y4 escape. But soon their plans are noticed by Boss Gu, and he tries to stop them. Granny is the most badass character you find in this drama. Boss Gu is an extremely selfish person. The chemistry between him and his secretary is worth mentioning.

Star Power

The cast has done an excellent job. Each character leaves a mark in the drama. Zhang Ling He and Fan Shuai Qi make an excellent pair. He Luo Luo is the sweet male lead and Dai Lu Wa is excellent for her role. Ming Dao and Tien Niu steal the show with their performance.

Overall Opinion

This drama is a must-watch. It stands out from the crowd of hundreds of Chinese dramas with a repetitive storyline. It is unique and captivating.
