He works with multiple doctors and police officers on the respective cases, which eventually made communicating with them easier as they see his professionalism, skill and commitment and wins them over quickly. They work hard day and night to uncover the gruesome murders that have taken the town by storm. As the investigation moves forward they unfold shocking truths. Will the team be able to handle the truth behind these murders?

The series is an adaption of the book 1 “Corpse Whisperer” in the novel series “Medical Examiner Dr. Qin.

The Feel-Good Part

The show has many characters that are unique, which is interesting. The murder plot is done well for the most part and the soundtrack is great.

The Disappointing Factor

The story is pretty cliché and doesn’t stray away from the common plot-points of this genre, which makes it predictable and may make it boring to watch. The pacing is inconsistent throughout the show as the murder case and the protagonist’s mother’s case do not run parallel. The slow gets extremely slow at some points wherein most of the substance in certain episodes was mere fillers. For a show that advertises about it being about forensics, it takes an extremely illogical turn that comes out of nowhere and ruins the premise that could’ve been otherwise interesting despite poor execution. The crime scenes weren’t detailed and felt vague, which isn’t engaging for viewers as there isn’t much of a pay off after so much of build-up in the episodes through the investigation. The series loses trajectory and meanders aimlessly, which completely loses the audience’s attention as what started as a show about crime turns into a full-blown romance, which is quite disappointing for viewers who were expecting a crime centred show.

In-Depth Analysis

The drama is a complete package of action, romance with sprinkles of humour that make it the perfect show to binge over a couple of weeks. The characters are barely given much personality, which makes it hard to root for them.

Star Power

All the performances were below average. The actors in their respective roles were not convincing one bit, which made it hard for the audience to connect with the characters and get immersed into the show.

Overall Opinion

This show is a very easy skip as it is executed poorly and completely misleading as it doesn’t deliver on its main premise and instead meanders into a whole new genre. There are many crime centred shows that have done plots similar to this one in a much more polished way. This is definitely not worth your time.
