Drama Digest

To work for Liu Ruo Chen, Lu Fan Fan, a personal nutritionist, was requested to attend an interview. He has an eating disorder. She spent the entire day preparing for him, but he still turned her down. Her friend brings her to a hotel suite to cheer her up. The power goes out just as they were getting ready for bed. Fan Fan decides to leave the building to investigate the issue, but as she enters a door in the hallway, she is sent back in time. There, she meets 20-year-old Ruo Chen. She begs for his assistance to keep her family safe from the blunders that would harm them, but messing with time and space had consequences.

The Feel-Good Part

Dramas about time travel might often be difficult to follow because of the frequent back and forth, but this one had a clear structure and stuck to the story. The actors contributed to a better script presentation. The plot may appear to be complex at first, but it quickly becomes clear. It may also start slowly before picking up speed toward the finale.

The Disappointing Factor

It feels like the screenplay writers weren’t able to fully utilize the potential of the time travelling plot. To somehow incorporate romance into the story, there were numerous moments with the main couple that seemed forced and illogical. Additionally, the acting was only fair, and there were times when the words and the actors’ facial expressions didn’t quite connect. The voices used for dubbing were also very basic. What happened to the antagonist Gao Ru Wen also leaves the audience in suspense and there was no explanation about him ever.

In-Depth Analysis

Ruo Chen experienced eating disorders as a child and frequently interviewed dietitians, however not all of them were a good fit for him. Fan Fan decided to try because her friend had specifically asked for it and she had failed as well. She discovers Ruo Chen, then 20 years old, after being unexpectedly transported to 2012 in the past. To get his assistance in preventing the various harms that would afflict her family, she persuades him that she is his girlfriend in the future. She gains a lot of knowledge about Ruo Chen’s ED as well. As they go about aiding one another, they both start to fall in love.

Star Power

Yang Ting Dong and Gong Wan Yi respectively performed the roles of Liu Ruo Chen and Lu Fan Fan. They did a better job of presenting the story than it was written.

Overall Opinion

Quite a mediocre drama with a poor plot
