Drama Digest
The drama tells the story of keen urban youths, who, after getting influenced by the “Two Mountains” theory, decide to return to their hometown and are determined to work there so as to build a wonderful countryside. One of the main leads is Xu Han. For eight years, he has been heading a private prep school. Coincidently, he gets fascinated by the rural landscape. This fascination causes him to return to his hometown as he decides to start a homestay. But he has to undergo several challenges which he hadn’t foreseen. Apart from this, there is another character called Du Xiao Yu. She adores old craftsmanship and wishes to resign from her job to open a glass workshop. However, her family fails to understand her and doesn’t support her. Along with the help of the locals, will they be able to fulfill their dream?
The Feel-Good Part
The female lead is shown to be someone strong, decisive, and independent. You will like her. Also, the relationships between the characters are pretty selfless. They care for each other, and you will frequently see them putting each other ahead of one’s own needs. They are always there for one another, and the love and feelings they share are genuine. For instance how Li Xiao Shi loved Shen Huan Ge and always helped him, even when he constantly kept rejecting her. She knew quite well that he liked Du Xiao Yu, yet her feeling towards him never wavered.
The Disappointing Factor
It is slightly heartbreaking when people don’t support the main leads but rather mock them for their decisions of trying to create a change. Especially the female lead’s family, they are somewhat selfish and greedy. You will often feel Du Xiao Yu’s loneliness. They should have been more considerate towards her. Also, the drama is too long, and feels stretched uselessly many times.
In-Depth Analysis
The drama is adapted from real-life stories. It will fill you with the zeal and desire to create significant changes and do something for others. All the characters are zestful and hardworking. They are intelligent, and despite many reoccurring issues, they still never gave up on their dreams. They do not just care for themselves but also have a greater vision for the people of their community. They wish to reform their society and bring about changes which will make everyone’s life slightly better, and even offer them new opportunities and outlets.
Star Power
‘Yang Shuo’ plays the role of Xu Han, and he does a great job. His charm and patience will leave you mesmerized. ‘Pan Zhi Lin’ plays the role of Du Xiao yu, and her empowering acting will leave you feeling more strengthened than before. Other than this, you also get to see the great work of ‘Ma Su,’ ‘Yu Yang,’ ‘Ah Nan,’ ‘Jing Gang Shan,’ etc.
Overall Opinion
The drama is good and has a fresh storyline. The love story and the romance is also something that will leave you in awe. You will keep hoping that the issues get resolved, and everyone gets their happy ending. The OST is also sweet.
