Drama Digest
Romance combined with history and comedy makes a perfect taste. This drama is the same kind of genre. The series adapts from the novel name, “Baogao Yi Fei, Wangye Ta You Zai Zhuangsha” or “Reporting the Concubine, Wang Ye is Playing Stupid” These short series have been popular among the audience. Lie Momei is a beautiful female doctor in modern medicine. Once experimenting in the lab, something goes wrong, and Liu travels back in time. She finds herself in ancient times in a palace. The fascinating part is that she wakes up in the bed next to the second prince of that palace, Huangfu Lingyao. He is generally considered ‘stupid’ for having the mind of a five-year-old. Liu gets stuck in the whirlwind of battles, court conspiracy, and with a ‘silly’ prince. Will Liu be able to escape from this and come back to her time? What’s going to happen to Liu and his stupid prince? Is he stupid for real, or just it’s just an act of being stupid?
The Feel-Good Part
The progression of the plot is interesting. The story is engaging and funny that you want to watch it in one go. The way characters build and conclude will surprise you.
The Disappointing Part
If compared to the novel, the series could have been better. Not all scenes were included, as in the book. But it is nothing to worry about as there won’t be much trouble for those who haven’t read the book.
In-Depth Analysis
The drama is generally a rom-com. But it also shows a historical glimpse and how kings used to rule. It is different from how kings fought battles in ancient times and the court conspiracies used to happen.
Star Power
The lead actor Huangfu Lingyao seems to be the star power of this series. Pulling up the character of a five-year-old is not easy. He is termed as silly, but still being a determined prince makes him mature.
Overall Opinion
The drama is full of comedy as well as romance. Also,o it being a short series won’t take up much time. The audience can binge-watch it in one go while enjoying the show too.
