Drama Digest
It is also known as ‘About Its Love 2.’ Directed by Guo Hui Zhong, the series can be said to be a prequel or a season 2 of the drama ‘About Its Love,’ aired back in 2018. The story revolves around three different couples who face multiple issues to survive their relationships. The main leads are Wei Qing and Zhou Shi. Wei Qing is a young, promising, passionate, and dominating president of the prestige Yumna Group who is dating a very enduring art graduate lady Zhou Shi who is a fantastic painter. They have been in a long-distance relationship for a while and often encounter misunderstandings and issues. Despite being together for a while, they have multiple trust issues and can’t seem to trust each other. They finally decided to call it off and part their ways when Zhou Shi began to have many suspicions, and Wei Qing could no longer bear it. They happened to meet each other two years later and both the protagonists had a glow-up. Zhou Shi exceeded her artistic skills and became even a better painter, whereas Wei Qing became mature and overcame his flaws and shortcomings. He decided to win back Zhou Shi and was ready to do everything to seek forgiveness. They both gave their best in trying to resolve their misunderstandings and undergo various tests to prove their feelings for each other. Will their relationship work out this time?
The Feel-Good Part
The show was a good rom-com. With various stories sliding in together, it was pretty enjoyable to watch.
The Disappointing Part
The audience seemed disappointed with the storyline as they had high expectations compared to season 1.
In-Depth Analysis
The story revolves around how people choose different methods to gain their partner’s trust and love. To do so, they made various sacrifices to prove their love and had to undergo multiple changes to be accepted by their partner, like how Wei Qing handled Zhou Shi patiently when she turned blind for a while proved that Wei Qing loved Zhou Shi. All the partners were entirely different from each other, which was very interesting to watch. The first couple was the business lover Wei Qing and art lover Zhou Shi. The second couple was the school’s heartthrob Lin Fei Fei who dates an aspiring artist Ning Fei, and the third couple was the perfect academic student Bi Qui Jing and the bully of the school, Li Ming Cheng. Despite their differences, they managed to win each other and finally have a happy marriage. The storyline and the plot had a lot of potentials and could have been a better show. The audience found the show boring. The story seemed all over the place and got confusing.
Star Power
The series’ cast was great; they all did well in their roles. Yan Xi played Wei Qing, Xu Xiao Nuo played Zhou Shi, Cai Yi Jia played Ning Fei, Yang Xin Yang played Ling Fei Fei, Li Xin Bo played Bi Qui Jing, and Hu Wen Zhe played Li Meng Cheng. Their chemistry was excellent, and the viewers are excited to see their favorite couples again in season 2!
Overall Opinion
Besides a bit of dragging and exaggerating, the show was a good watch!
