The Feel-Good Part

The main pair begins their relationship together, and other characters soon follow suit. The cast is fantastic, including a number of well-known and experienced actors. The chemistry between all of the protagonists is fantastic, allowing for hilarious, emotional, and well-executed relationships. The music complements the visuals perfectly.

A narrative about two divorced, middle-aged individuals (Zhou Xun, Huang Lei) who are in a relationship with their teenage children. The plot expands to include their siblings’, family members’, and children’s interactions. There include discussions on parent-child relationships, economic stress, co-parenting partnerships, adult romance, teen romance, and other topics. This may irritate some viewers because it also focuses on other characters.

In-Depth Analysis

Wang Sumin raised two daughters, Liu Xiaomin and Liu Xiaojie, on her alone. Surprisingly, both of her daughters divorced beyond the age of 30. The eldest daughter Liu Xiaomin’s husband had an affair, so she moved from a small town to Beijing to look for employment and met Chen Zhuo, who was also divorced, and the two decided to remarry. However, both Xiaomin and Chen Zhuo have an uneasy ex, their children are growing up, and the adults in the family are all over 60 years old; how can they get the acceptance of the other’s family and integrate into it? For the two of them, each other’s lives have become an insurmountable barrier.

Overall Opinion

Despite the fact that the series is rather long, You will never get bored while watching it. The convoluted familial relationships and individual viewpoints of each character work nicely together and are never too difficult to follow.
