Some of the Dramas are high budget, with a fantastic sense of aesthetics. They inspire us to travel, explore and go beyond, and therefore some locations which we see in dramas become famous travel spots as soon as the drama is completed. But here are some highly-rated dramas that were shot abroad and have inspired the viewers to get out of their comfort zone and to travel the same places especially in times of difficulty where all of us were quarantined. We’ve all lived our fantasies through these shows, with wanderlust in our eyes. Here we go, here is a list of dramas to watch when you feel like travelling.

1. Memories Of Alhambra-Alhambra, Spain

The gaming and AR focussed drama not only gave us an amazing storyline, soundtrack, and screenplay but also made Alhambra one of the must visit-places after the release of the drama.  Consisting of Hyun Bin, Chanyeol, and Park Shin-ye, it was shot throughout Barcelona, Girona, Slovenia, and Budapest.

 

2. Crash Landing On You-Switzerland

Mostly everybody is aware of the significance of Switzerland in everybody’s recent favourite show, Crash Landing on You; most of the emotional flashbacks are from this place, where the leads first met. Some of the most iconic shots were at Lake Brienz, Lake Lungern, Sigriswil Bridge, etc. The Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin starrer served some fantastic shots of Switzerland, adding to the visual beauty of the drama.

 

3. Goblin-Quebec, Canada

Now, who does not remember an epic scene of the Goblin and Ji Eun-Tak walking through the streets of Canada in the middle of autumn, admiring the leaves and making quite memorable memories while they visited the beautiful Quebec. They are seen in places like Parc Samuel-Holland and Fontaine de Tourney.

 

4. Encounter-Havana, Cuba

One of the most aesthetic shows that we have seen in a while, the Song Hye-Kyo and Park Bo-Gum starrer is a melodramatic romance drama which was shot in Cuba during their first few episodes. We saw some of the gorgeous views and the brewing romance between the leads and some of the most iconic sights being La Cabana, and Parque Central.

 

5. Are You Human-The Czech Republic

The drama starring Seo Kang Joon, which is highly appreciated for bringing in the AI aspect into their storyline, also had some highlights of abroad beauty from the Czech Republic. Some of the places were the Mill Colonnade, etc.

 

6. Descendants Of The Sun-Greece

It was one of the few K-dramas that inspired many viewers to take a trip down to Greece due to the breath-taking beauty of the place. The Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo starrer drama showed us sites like Navagio Beach, Clock Tower of Arachova and, Monastery of Panagi Skopiotissa.

 

7. Legend Of The Blue Sea-Spain And Palau

Our favourite mermaid and the human love stories were also first shot in Spain, where the main leads encounter each other. Some of the most famous sights that were shown in the drama include  Palau or the Milky Way Lagoon, Barcelona, Girona, A Coruna, to name a few, with the very significant scene at the Tower of Hercules.

 

8. Vagabond–Morocco And Portugal

Our action drama was already declared as one of the most expensive projects in a while, therefore expecting exotic locations were a given for the drama. They discovered beautiful places in Tangier, Morocco, and Lisbon, Portugal. The drama starring Bae Suzy and Lee Seung Gi is making the fans ask for a second season ever since the first one ended.

 

9. Shopping King Louie-France

Although not many scenes of the drama was shot in France, in the outskirts of South Korea, but the opening shot of the Mansion where Louie (played by Seo In-Guk) lived as the chaebol of a very wealthy family was shot in France in the Chateau de Bourron.

 

10. Doctor Stranger-Budapest, Hungary

The Lee Jong-suk starred drama Doctor stranger is a drama about a Doctor who flees to South Korea and works in a prestigious hospital, but is ostracized, and the doctors have cut him off. Now many of the action scenes of the drama were shot in Budapest, which is one of the most harrowing scenes Lee Jong-suk has shot.
