The world of the Korean entertainment industry is as diverse as one would expect it to be. The cut-throat competition that prevails in almost all aspects of Korean society, makes it extremely hard to make a name for oneself. Despite such circumstances, the following set of siblings, who shine in different industries, have proved that nothing is impossible if one so desires, quite literally.
1. NCT Jungwoo And Kim Min Ah
Jungwoo, member of popular idol group NCT was revealed to have an older sister, and that too a celebrity. None of us could have guessed that it would be actress Kim Min Ah. While Jungwoo has made a brand for himself through his charming songs and performances in his group and as part of the subunit DOJAEJUNG (consisting of Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo). Kim Min Ah is an excellent singer herself but is majorly known for her acting roles in various shows such as ‘Love Vlog’ and ‘The World of My 17’ among others.
2. Jang Wonyoung And Jang Da Ah
Turns out IVE’s Jang Wonyoung is not the only pretty face in her family. Wonyoung’s older sister Jang Da Ah (real name Jang Jin Young) recently made her debut as a model for the contact lens brand ACUVUE. Soon, pictures of Da Ah circulated online and netizens were left shocked by the uncanny resemblance in the looks of the two sisters. Da Ah is all set to make her debut as an actress through the upcoming K-drama ‘Pyramid Game’, an adaptation of a webtoon with the same name.
3. Park Jihyo And Park Ji Young
Just as TWICE needs no introduction. Jihyo, who serves as the leader of this nine-member female group, doesn’t need any introductions either. While Jihyo’s stage presence and leadership skills serve as inspiration for many other idols, her younger sister Park Ji Young is now ready to turn heads in the modeling/acting industry. 4. Park Shin Hye And Park Shin Won
Park Shin Hye also known as the “Nation’s Little Sister”, is one of the most renowned actresses in the Korean entertainment industry today. Over the years she has entertained her fans with a variety of roles, popular ones including ‘The Heirs’, ‘Pinocchio’, and ‘Sisyphus: The Myth’. Like his sister, Park Shin-Won, Shin-Hye’s older brother is a renowned musician. He has participated in the production of one of B1A4 (a three-member boy band)’s albums.
5. Chanyeol And Park Yoo Ra
Park Chan-Yeol, one of the members of the renowned group Exo, has proved his mettle time and again. He raps, sings, is a lyricist, and has also showcased his acting skills through dramas such as ‘So I Married an Anti-fan’, and ‘Secret Queen Makers’. But did you know that famous YTN announcer (now retired) Park Yoo Ra is Chanyeol’s older sister? As one of the main announcers of her time, Park Yoo Ra is loved and warmly remembered by many. The duo’s bonding is considered to be the ideal brother-sister relationship.
6. Jeongyeon & Gong Seung Yeon
Yoo Jeongyeon, the main vocalist of the massively popular female group TWICE has talent running in her family. Not only is Jeongyeon famous and rightly so for her heavenly vocals and stunning visuals, her older sister Gong Seung Yeon has successfully made a name for herself in the acting industry.
