China has always been brimming with beautiful and talented actors and actresses. However, with age, people start thinking about their future apart from their existing jobs. Here are some Chinese celebrities who got retired from their career.

1. Ke Huy Quan

Ke Hyun Quan, or Jonathan Ke Quan, is an American-based actor. His parents are of Chinese descent. Ke Hyun Quan retired from his acting career in 2001 but decided to come back again in 2021. He starred in movies like Everything and Everywhere All at Once (2022), Second Time Around (2002), Red Pirate (1996), and Encino Man (1992). Ke Huy Quan was also a fight choreographer in X-Men (2000).

 

2. Man Wen Jun

Man Wen Jun, born in 1969, is a Chinese singer. An illegal drug case forced him to retire.  He wrote theme songs for well-known Tv dramas like Wo Wei Ni Zou Guo (2007), Ai Zai Ren Jian (2006), and Lu Man Man Long Road (2000).

 

3. Jia Hongsheng

Jia Hongsheng was a Chinese actor who became well-known in the 1980s for his roles in Good Morning Beijing (1991), A Women From North Shaanxi (1993), The Case of the Silver Snake (1988), and Weekend Lover (1995). Jia quit being an actor in 2000. He died in 2010.

 

4. Song Changrong

Song Changrong, or Song Baoguang, was a Peking Opera performer in China. At 87, in 2022, he passed away due to the Covid outbreak.  Song Changrong also served as the deputy director of Stage Performers and was a member of the Jiangsu provincial legislature.

 

5. Yang Lin 

Yang Lin was a Chinese screenwriter who passed away in 2022 in Henan Province. Yang composed a play- 'Red Flag Canal,' in the 1960s.

 

6. Wang Jingguang

Wang Jingguang was a Chinese director known for his films like 'Never Look Back' and 'Lawless.' He died at the age of 54 in 2021.

 

7. Huang Haibo

Huang Haibo, born in 1976, is a Chinese actor. He is well-known for his roles like- Yu Xiaobei in the movie 'The Dream of a Young Soldier' (2001) and Yu Wei in 'A Beautiful Daughter-in-law era' (2009). In 2014, Huang disappeared from the industry after being alleged of hiring prostitutes.

 

8. Zhao Wei

Zhao Wei, born in 1976, is a Chinese actress, singer, director, and businesswoman. She is considered one of the highest-paid actresses in China. Zhao Wei starred in movies and dramas like Shaolin Soccer (2001), Painted Skin (2008), Dearest (2014), A Time to Love (2005), Romance in the Rain (2001), So Young (2013), Two Tigers (2019), and others. In 2021, Zhao Wei suddenly disappeared from the Chinese entertainment industry. The reasons for his disappearance are still unknown.

 

9. Chen Yufan

Chen Yufan, born in 1975, is a Chinese singer and actor. He debuted with the album 'The Most Beautiful (1999). He also released many music albums, like I Can't Live Without You (2003), Everyone has a Yu Quan in His Heart (2009), @Myself (2011), Dare to Love (2014), Recalcitrate (2015), and many others.  In 2018, Chen Yufan got arrested for the illegal possession of Drugs scandal. His image and reputation suffered because of this.

 

10. Fu Zu Cheng

Fu Zu Cheng, born in 1940, was a Chinese actor. He died in December 2022 at the age of 82. Fu was well-known for starring in 'Little Flower' (1979), a CCP propaganda film.
