Our popular boy band BTS. Bangtan Sonyeondan, are the hot topic of the music and entertainment industry; after smashing hits and becoming popular internationally there are only a few people who don’t know these artists, they are the pride of South Korea, and still are one of the most loved and humble groups, we have come across. Their music, their characters, their personalities everything, about them is lovable and cherished by their fandom, “ARMYs”. So here are some random and quirky facts that you might not have known about the band and its members (even if you are one of the most Hardcore fans of the band).

1. What does Bangtan Sonyeondan Mean? A lot of people might not know this, but in Korean, it means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts,” the significance of this being that the band will deflect any criticism, hate, or stereotypes that they may come across, like a dodging a bullet, but now people also think of BTS as beyond the Scene.

 

2. We Now Know What BTS Means, But What Does ARMY Mean? There is a significant meaning behind the fandom meaning too, it stands for the acronym, “Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth, but RM once revealed that they were going to call the fandom, Bangwools, meaning bell (Phew!).

 

3. Our tsundere Suga, aka Min Yoon-gi loves his fans a lot; on his birthday he made handmade gifts for the ARMY; and donated Beef to the orphans on his twenty-fifth birthday as he promised to do so when he became rich, Suga may act cold and unaffected but he is the sweetest boy out there.

4. Past Life Of Gloss, Wondering Who Gloss Is? He is none other than Min Yoon-gi, who was an underground rapper before he joined and gained fame as a member of the BTS; due to this experience, he fits into the group very effortlessly and took over the role of leading rapper of the group.

 

5. Our Rap line is a geeky trio; while all of us know that Namjoon loves to read books, we might not be aware of the fact that JHope’s father is a literature professor, and what is even more shocking is that Suga won a prize for reading the most books in his school life.

 

6. We all know about Jungkook’s love for tattoos, but he admitted on a show once that if he were not an idol, he’d probably become a tattoo artist or a duck restaurant owner, but yes, we already know how talented he is, and has unbelievable artistic skills, so we are not shocked.

 

7. A fun fact about their recent single and a super hit, “Butter,” is that it was inspired by Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal and Daft Punk, and it took them a long time period to edit the lyrics (a month and a half) to feel that the song was good enough, they do work hard.

 

8. Most of the members had to go through a long process of selecting names like Jungkook was supposed to go by Seagull, Jimin was supposed to go by Baby J or Baby G, Suga wanted to go by his underground rapper name Gloss but was advised not to.

 

9. The reason behind Suga’s shoulder injury was that he used to work as a delivery boy before BTS, and had ended up dislodging his shoulder after being hit by a car, and even had pancreatic surgery before, he really has had it rough, and he still makes us proud.

 

10. We all know that BTS decide their own rules and don’t always follow company policies, but the most disobedient member of the group is Suga, according to RM, because he refuses to wake up early in the morning (he is a busy man, let him be), and doesn’t clean his make up or eat properly (okay, now we are concerned).
