Anime movies, especially ones based on existing series, have changed the pace of telling stories for the better. Massive hits like Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, Jujutsu Kaiser O, and many more have used a different way of connecting with the series’ current plot lines. These anime movies allow the viewers to experience the stories of their characters who didn’t get a fair amount of spotlight. Every year comes a new season of releases, and their fans can’t wait for these movies.
1. Spy x Family Code: White
Spy x Family Code: White is an upcoming animated spy movie by Takashi Katagiri that is set to release in theaters in December 2023. The anime took the community by storm bringing back the nostalgic story but with a familial twist. It follows the Forgers, a family of Yor, Loid, and Anya, who all appear to be expected, but are a group of assassins, a spy, and a telepath, along with their dog, Bond. As part of Operation Strix, their mission, Loid plans a vacation with his family, which is an adrenaline-rushing adventure where they all are trying to save the world.
2. Rascal Does Not Dream Of A Knapsack Kid
It is a supernatural romantic film based on a novel written by Hajime Kamoshida. It will be released in Japan on 1st December, 2023. It is March and only a month is left in the third semester. Sakuta attends the graduation ceremony of Mai Sakurajima, his girlfriend. As he waits on the shore for Mai an elementary student who looks just like Mai, appears in front of him.
3. Totto-Chan: The Little Girl At The Window
Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window is a film set to be released in Japanese theaters on 8th December this year. It is based on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi’s series of memoir articles published in Kodansha's Young Woman magazine. The story is about an ideal school in Tokyo that was during World War II, that combined learning with freedom, fun, and love. This school used old railroad cars as classrooms and was run by an extraordinary man, Sosaku Kobayashi, the founder and headmaster. He is a firm believer in freedom of activity and expression. After not fitting in at her initially elementary school, Tetsuko goes to school at Tomoe Gakuen.
4. The Imaginary
The Imaginary is a Japanese fantasy film by Yoshiyuki Momose. The voice cast includes Rio Suzuki, Riisa Nara, Atsuko Takahata, Kokoro Terada, Sakura Ando, Takayuki Yamada, and Issey Ogata. Originally the film was supposed to be released in 2022, but it got postponed due to production delay; It is now set to be released on 15th December 2023. In a world where imaginations can be eaten and lived by others, Rudger is an imaginary boy who can only be seen by Amanda, his creator. He must return to his creator before he is captured or forgotten by an evil man who can see imaginary friends.
5. Ten Count
Ten Count is a boy love film set to be released in 2023. The leading voice cast is Shinnosuke Tachibana and Tomoaki Maeno. Tadaomi Shirotani is the secretary of Tosawa Corporation's company president and is a mysophobe. His disorder has limited him in every aspect, from being able to leave without wearing a pair of gloves and vigorously cleaning his hands. 6. Haikyuu!! The Movie

The key visual features are Kenma Kozume and Hinata Shouyo, who are set to play vital roles in the upcoming match between Nekoma High and Karasuno High. It showcases two characters facing each other by pointing knives at each other.
7. Ultraman: Rising
It is an upcoming animated superhero movie based on Ultraman. It is a Japanese-American co-production between Netflix Animation and Tsuburaya Productions. It is set to be released worldwide in 2024. Ken Sato is a famous baseball player who has returned to Japan to become the latest hero so that he can carry the mantle of Ultraman. However, his plan goes awry when he has to raise a newborn, a Kaiju monster, who is the offspring of his greatest enemy, his child. Ken will also have to repair his relationship with his estranged father.
8. Kimi No Iro
Kimi No Iro is an anime set to be released in 2024 by Naoko Yamada. The story is about Tosuko, a high-school student, who can see the hearts of people as colors. Also known as HameFura: The Movie, it is an animated movie based on the light novel by Satoru Yamaguchi. It is directed by Keisuke Inoue. It is set to be released in Japan on 8th December, 2023. Catarina Claes is a wealthy heiress, who recovers the memories from her past life. Soon she meets a mysterious boy while she is visiting the circus caravan coming from the country of Mutrac. This leads to an unprecedented event for her.
