Anime Digest

Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou Desu is a Japanese anime series that is alternatively known as The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent. The plotline revolves around a young adult named Sei. One day while returning home after work, Sei magically gets pulled away into a different world. She learns that she was not the only one who was whisked, and there is also another girl. The two of them were summoned as the holy maiden to become a saint meant to banish the dark magic in the kingdom. The other girl gets chosen over Sei. Eventually, Sei opens a shop with the help of her newly found magic. However, even though she is quite contented with her new life, the apparent sainthood doesn’t stop looming over her.

The Feel-Good Part

The fans of Isekai would love this anime. Unlike other Isekai series, this anime doesn’t tackle complicated storyline and instead has a pretty light-hearted storyline, which is perfect for a casual watch where you don’t have to invest much attention and emotions.

The Disappointing Factor

The anime follows an extremely slow pace, and very little things goes on in each episode, which feels dragged. Coming to the storyline, it is not highly well-written but doesn’t have any new creativity either.

In-Depth Analysis

The theme of the anime is nothing new and is quite common in the anime world where the female protagonist gets pulled away into a different world. The characters are not well-written, which lacks character development and growth. The progression of the story is, however very well executed and grips the viewers for the rest of the anime. The anime adaption has stood on the fan’s expectations as the original novel has a pretty large fan base. The romance of the anime is slow-burn, and the direction of the anime successfully captivates the feeling of love. There is a pretty strong connection of love with the magical power of the female character, Sei.

Star Performance

Yui Ishikawa voiced the character of Sei Takanashi, Takahiro Sakurai voiced the character of Albert Hawke, Yuusuke Kobayashi voiced the character of Yuri Drewes, Taku Yashiro voiced the character of Jude, and Takuya Eguchi voiced the character of Johan Valdec. The supporting cast includes Reina Ueda, Kana Ichinose, Jun Fukuyama, Marika Kouno, and many more.

Overall Opinion

Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou Desu is a simple Isekai and slice-of-life genre anime with a bit of romance. The storyline is simple yet intriguing. Overall, if you want to watch something simple and casual anime, then this is the one for you. Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou Desu is perfect for a casual watch.
