Anime Digest

Kousuke Mikado, a bookstore clerk, can see ghosts from a very young age. He wears spectacles to hide his talent because he fears the supernatural. While working in a book shop one day, Rihito Hiyakawa, an eccentric psychic, approaches him and believes that Mikado was meant to meet him. Mikado is dragged into the paranormal world due to Hiyakawa’s pranks, with the Hiyakawa promising that if Mikado stays with him, he will be free of his worries. They discover a succession of curses with the same name—”Erika Hiura”—as they continue to work together. What is this person’s goal, and how do Mikado and Hiyakawa fit into it?  Watch the series to find out!

 The Feel-Good Part

The feel-good parts of the series are the paranormal and mysterious elements. Initially, Kousuke and Hiyakawa investigate individual supernatural occurrences, assisting neighbors and other people they encounter. Still, they soon discover that these incidences are related to Erika Hiura, a sorcerer who can set curses. Each episode is filled with suspense and a spooky atmosphere, and you may be taken aback by how tense certain situations are.

 The Disappointing Factor

Aside from the constant sexual tension between the two protagonists, there isn’t much affection between them in this supposedly Boys’ Love anime. The disappointing factor is the ending! It remains unexplained, and one might feel unsatisfied by the end. Mikado and Hiyakawa’s relationship is spent a lot of time building up, but there is not much to it. The story seems hesitant to commit to a romantic relationship between the two protagonists.

 In-Depth Analysis

In short, Mikado is a shy, adorable book clerk, and Hiyakawa is an eccentric psychic. They both work together and improve their psychic abilities and trail upon the case of Erika Hiura, a sorcerer who can cast the curse. The mysterious atmosphere is thrilling to watch, and the buildup of Mikado and Hiyakawa’s relationship is fun.

 Star Power

The boy’s love series doesn’t have serious romance. However, the storyline considers its topics and does its best for its people and their relationships, even if it’s not overly romantic. The star power of the series is its mysterious storyline which is different from the manga.

 Overall Opinion

There is not much romance in the supposedly Boy’s Love anime. The storyline is suspenseful, with psychic characters. However, you may get bored quickly because the ending is entirely predictable. But this is worth seeing if you’re searching for a tense supernatural drama with a gruesome atmosphere.
