Drama Digest

This drama is a fantasy tale of war and chaos in medieval times. Year’s ago, the king was betrayed and murdered by his dukes, who built the kingdom again. Now, the natural heir of the throne has come to acquire the throne. Hiding in the front of a man, she band began to protect their motherland. It is an incredible anime with a great backstory.

The Feel-Good Part

The characters are done well, the characters, are likeable. The fits for the scenes; a simple yet can’t go wrong. Anything didn’t feel out of place. The sound department also has done a great job. The story presented itself in a convincing way which is one of the most beautiful parts.

The Disappointing Factor

At times, the tale feels weak the story describes a kingdom that was attacked, and after the kind is dead, her daughter cannot be reached. The report does not allow the viewers to acknowledge what is going on; the story is going at a fast pace which slows in the second half of the show.

In-Depth Analysis

A rebellion in the capital led by a duke to capture the kingdom of Hortensia. All the other members of the royalty went missing or were dead.  Escapes to save the life, knight Maurice escapes the subsequent chaos. Fernando is killed in the war. Honouring his legacy, Maurice went to his house to deliver his sword to his son, Alfred.  Dispute the grief, his son is reminded of a vow he played with his father. Alfred hones his skill to fulfil the promise made to his father, under the guidance of Maurice. Whereas, Alexi passes the order to catch hold of the princess who went missing and crowns Charlot as the new king. The plot of the anime is interesting, to begin with. The characters and the character traits were a  bit cliché, but the development of the story was good. The art on the frames, and the environment was great. The story is excellent and the twists are entertaining, but it felt like the characters were weak. The story was good but it rushed in the end.

Star Power

The characters are written and played pretty well. The nature of  Maurice was attention catching. The character design felt generic and was likeable.

Overall Opinion

This anime is an adaptation of an RPG game. In Japan, it was released in 2015. Hortensia is one of the good anime and the story is deserving.
