Drama digest:
This is a science fiction series. It portrays a boy named Shinki, who’s the only human inhabitant on a planet called Granbell where all the residents are robots. This series involves various theories about the multiverse and things that seem impossible in the current world.
The Feel-good factor:
It’s a science fiction story that is a favorite among many anime fans. It can be called underrated due to its intriguing concept and storyline. The action scenes and animation are well-done. All the side characters are good and have decent personalities.
The disappointing factor:
It somehow represents misogyny. As it is a Netflix series, women’s bodies are used as an object of sexual baiting. Some people say it is a plagiarised story derived from some fairy tale. It can be a bit upsetting due to the ridiculous amount of fan service the series has portrayed.
In-depth analysis:
The main lead of the series, a boy named Shiki Granbell, is an orphan raised by robots on a world full of robots. The name of their planet is Granbell. This planet is an abandoned and deserted theme park. Shiki is a lonely child since he was the only human surrounded and raised by robots. He’s an introvert. He had never met another human, which made him think that he was the only human on his planet. But soon after, he’s proved wrong as he meets another human- a girl named Rebecca and her robotic cat Happy. As they grow closer, they discuss exploring the planet. Soon after, they set out on a quest to discover the planet and a powerful mythical entity named mother, which bestows powers upon people. They set out on a ship named ‘Edens Zero’ which also happens to be the series’s name. In the process, they also receive magical powers called Ether gear, and Shiki’s magical power is being able to control gravity. The ether gear is different for every character. In short, it’s a story of Shiki and Rebecca, who set out to find out the mother and the four powerful robots for some reason and what happens to them when they discover all of it.
Star power:
Shiki and Rebecca, along with her cat happy, are the stars of the show because it is a story of their discovery of other humankind or robots and supernatural entities that they set out to discover through a strange journey.
Overall opinion:
It is an enjoyable, action-packed, and thriller fun to watch series. It can give one a good time.
