Anime Digest

This Japanese anime series is alternatively known as Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. The plotline of the anime series revolves around an unemployed 34-year-old man who gets tragically killed in an accident and later finds himself reincarnated in a new body as Rudeus Greyrat, where he gets to live life in a complete cycle. He is reborn in a very unfamiliar environment surrounded by magic and secrecy. Thus, he leads a very adventurous life. Given a second chance in life, Rudeus Greyrat quickly adapts to the new world of magic.

The Feel-Good Part

The soundtrack of the anime is terrific, and the animation of the series is top-notch. The fact that a new studio has produced such high-quality anime deserves appreciation. The characters are incredibly well-written with exciting traits. The anime justified the genre of Isekai pretty well. The twists and turns of the plotline are guaranteed to engage the viewers till the end.

The Disappointing Factor

Many of the Isekai fans would opine that Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Honki Dasu couldn’t bring out any unique factor and instead became one of the many Isekai that has been releasing quite a lot these days. For fans new to the genre of Isekai, you might like the theme of Isekai; however, there are some objectionable actions depicted in the anime which may offend many, and indeed this anime is not meant to be watched with family. The repeated addition of new cast and characters might not be liked by many.

In-Depth Analysis

Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Honki Dasu has been caught in various controversies, mainly because it has some questionable Ecchi themes. There are several scenes where objectionable sexual actions are cropped in, which disrupt the flow of the otherwise good storytelling. The most disturbing thing about this anime is that it shows rape and sexual abuse content as comical. Apart from the overly sexualizing of the scenes and characters, honestly, the anime is pretty fun to watch.

Star Performance

Konomi Kohara voiced the character of Roxy Mirgudia, Yumi Uchiyama for the character of Rudeus Greyrat, and Ai Kakuma for the character of Eris Boreas Greyrat, and Ai Kayano for the character of Sylphiette. The supporting cast includes Daisuke Namikawa as Ruijerd Superdia, Megumi Toyoguchi as Ghislaine Dedoldia, Kenjirou Tsuda as Orsted, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Paul Greyrat, Hisako Kanemoto as Zenith Greyrat, Yuuki Takada as Aisha Greyrat, Yuka Iguchi as Kishirisu Kishirika, Shouta Yamamoto as Thomas, Kaori Nakamura as Edna Leilon, Nobuo Tobita as Alphonse, Takuya Kodama as Somar, Ayaka Asai as Kurt, and many more. The anime was directed by Manabu Okamoto, and Jin Aketagawa is the sound director.

Overall Opinion

Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Honki Dasu is a decent anime in the genre of Isekai. The series is based on a light novel series that shares the same title. The anime is funny and exciting, though there is sexual content that might trigger some. Overall, you can watch this anime if you want to witness a superbly produced animation and enjoy the Isekai genres.
