Drama Digest
Best Mistake is based on a typical high school narrative. The plot of the show is based on a mobile game. The plot of the series is the same as that of the game. However, the third season is based on an entirely new narrative. The walnut pair, Hwayang High School’s finest couple, separated! Yeon Du is attempting to drive Hyun Ho away by keeping her heart together, while Hyun Ho is attempting to influence Yeon Du’s thoughts in some manner. Furthermore, two additional “disturbers” begin to appear between the two. As they leave Hwayang High School and become true adults, the narrative of their early days at university begins.
The Feel-Good Part
The best thing about the series is that it has an outstanding ensemble. All of the viewers who are still in high school or university may completely relate to it, and those who have graduated can reminisce about their days. It revolves around characters in love with some jealousy coming in between. It has a light-hearted entertainment factor to it. Besides these, the predictable scenes are also fun to watch if you are new to this series.
The Disappointing Factor
The third season has disappointed its fans. We watch a timelapse of the characters transitioning to university life, as well as a series of mysteries that drive the show’s whole storyline; the most important of which are Yeondu X Hyunho and Seol X Junho ships. To most of our chagrin, the themes of this season appear to be a rehash of season 2: foolishly introducing new and unneeded love-triangle rivalry, stalking, phoney pals, and previous toxic romances. The writers should concentrate on the characters’ growth in a new setting, but one can’t help but believe this is just another immature high-school drama, which has shifted to a new environment, i.e., a university to have a so-called “plot development”.
In-Depth Analysis
There is no “new stuff”. Season 3 is just a recycling of the previous two seasons. This web series didn’t require a second or third season. They keep adding idol actors, but their characters are so uninteresting that they even play the same roles as the previous season’s tragic one-sided love boy and evil girl. After being locked in a room for the third time, Yeondu’s scene does not spice things up for the viewers. Viewers expected to see more mature narratives now that the protagonists are in college, but the directors blew the opportunity. To be brutally honest, Season 1 is the best as it lives up to its title, but the others were utter disappointments.
Star Power
The ensemble is the only good thing about this season, making it a bit bearable to watch.
Overall Opinion
Overall, there is no improvement in the plot. It was the same as in both of the previous two seasons. Although these kinds of high school teenage love series are mainly for light-hearted entertainment, one would expect plot and character development in a continuing series. Thus, one expects more out of this third season. The music(OST) satisfies the viewers and listeners which is another good thing about this season.
