Drama Digest

Nak and Mak love each other and are happily married. Nak lived on the banks of the Phra Khanong Canal. When Nak is pregnant, Mak leaves for war and becomes seriously injured. When he arrives back to his wife, he acknowledges that his lovely wife and his newborn child are waiting for him, but as ghosts. He is completely unaware of the fact and he realises the truth much later.

The Feel-Good Part

They have showcased real emotions on the stage, which speaks to the viewers the most. The audience has perceived this drama as unconventional and different from the rest. While the other dramas mainly glorify how amazing the couple making and finding love is, having good looks and good morals simultaneously, this series doesn’t take that path. It takes instead a lonely way of showcasing the real struggle of dealing with loss and uncertainty. The perseverance shown by the female lead, regardless of anything, is applaudable.

The Disappointing Factor

Despite being an inspiring story, the story is not new enough to excite the audience. Such similar stories had already been made and had been a success and a cult classic for all. The show’s theme is grim and sad, which could take out the fun element of the show. The consequences of the war came in the timing of the child’s birth, which cost the life of both of them. Topics like death and childbirth are not preferable to watch for the audience. The story is confusing and difficult to understand for the fans.

In-Depth Analysis

The story unfolded piece by piece with each episode, and that’s the beauty of this series. It keeps on getting better and better. The romantic segment is better, with good flashbacks showing their love after separating due to the war for the couple living in the natural, authentic world. This is one of the beautiful stories made in a drama. The series is straightforward. It is already established that the love blossomed between the main characters, but the climax spoke for itself. It was self-explanatory and rewarding to watch until the very end.

Star Power

Each character of the show has done their best. The graphics and visuals for the show are well made. The acting is applaudable, and the music is well-executed. The characters are adorable with funny dialogues and solid acting. The overall crux of the story is very amazing to watch, with the seriousness kept alive in their respective positions. Characters like the male and female lead, Nak and Mak, shone in such a framework, as they have been glorified as being the “heroes” of the series, and it is fun and ironic to watch.

Overall Opinion

It has been a revolutionary show to watch shot during the pandemic. It is recommended to boost your spirits during these times.
