TV Show Digest

Three guys previously from ‘Produce X 101’ go on a trip to LA and Las Vegas together.

The Feel-Good Part

The travel stories wrapped in cheerfulness and the amazement of visiting a new place offer an exciting perspective to this show.

The Disappointing Factor

The show falls behind its ability to keep it engaged. The travelogue left several potholes that make the grasping excitement fall short. The introduction of several fun activities, facts and more places could have enhanced its level. Despite that, the rookie trios showed good potential.

In-Depth Analysis

A travelogue focusing on the journey of three friends off to America shows the many intricacies of travelling. With the increased interest in foreign travelling, it helps to carve out a rough idea of what it means to go abroad in a realistic way. Thus, rather than beginning its filming after reaching there, it starts doing so from the arduous packing. It captures the feeling of excitement and anxiety into a weird flow of emotions before getting into the flight. Instead of focusing on one individual’s reaction, three makes a crowd and travelling together with friends has its fun sides. The show gives a glimpse into the many checklists of things that one needs to remember before going on a trip abroad. Among those, language is one of the essential and significant factors. Keeping that in mind, it also engagingly structures the episodes so that the viewers learning Korean can gain from it. Often the colourful subtitles pop up in large fonts to enunciate the words and expressions of the actors. The inclusion of English subtitles alongside it hints at the international audience’s interest and participation as a viewer. It becomes an entertaining way to learn Korean from English and vice versa.

Star Power

Lee Jin Hyuk, Han Se Jin and Kim Min Kyu are the fun trio who went on a thrilling journey.

Jin Hyuk, aka Wei, a former UP10TION member featured in a reality show called “Produce X 101”. For seven years and two months, he was a trainee. He featured in several commercials as an actor before getting into a band. He featured in many K-dramas in either lead or support roles. TV Shows like “Kim Goo Ra’s Latte 9”, “Billlie’s Ginga Minga School Life”, “Midnight Idol Season 2”, and more had him as a guest. He hosted shows like “New Family Relations Certificate Godfather”, “5 Bros”, and “Fan Heart Attack Idol TV”, among others.

Han Se Jin was a K-pop trainee for five months before joining the “Produce X 101” reality show. He opened a brand called “Marimong”, which sells cute dolls. He acted as the lead character in many K-dramas such as “Hope or Dope 2”, “Hope or Dope”, “Nobleman Ryu’s Wedding”, etc.

They knew Kim Min Kyu from that reality show. He specialises in varied domains as an actor, model, MC and singer. He was a K-pop trainee for eight months and was also Chun Nam Wook in the K-drama “Pop Out Boy!” where he played the lead role.

Overall Opinion

The show is a good match for leisure time watch while sharpening your language skills.
