TV Show Digest

Fight Club is a combat game with the idea of harboring survival of the fittest. It is a reality show where 14 individuals with different careers put on stake their fight money of 110 million won for a 168-hour long survival camp.

The Feel-Good Part

The show’s idea is simple; it’s just a fight camp. Also, being a reality TV show, it didn’t exactly have a feel-good part but if I have to point something out, following the story of these 14 very different individuals through the 168-hour camp is something that may interest you.

The Disappointing Part

Like I said, a reality show with nothing scripted but everything planned. If there’s anything that may disappoint you will be the lack of budget and low production quality with manageable camerawork.

In-Depth Analysis

Fight Club, the name may remind you of the 1999 American movie of the same title, literally means fight club in this context. The show comprises 14 individuals who get into a camp where they learn how to fight and eventually fight. Sounds simple, right? Not when 110 million won is at stake. The individuals all battle to win the money in this intense reality show. The fights are something that may attract all action enthusiasts. There is even emotional drama in the eight episodes to keep you hooked on the show. The fantasy of every 13-year-old boy joining a fight club is the main idea of the reality show. But other than that, it’s nothing. If you’re not an action or combat enthusiast, there is nothing more the show has to offer. So, choose your battles carefully, pun intended. Overall, the show had some mixed responses, even among the niche audience for a person who would rather watch a quick session of WWE rather than stick to 8 episodes for the same adrenaline level. But in the end, it’s all about who can take away the money. So that serves to your anticipation cravings if nothing else.

Star Power

There was no famous person or anyone already known to the audience. The fourteen contestants were the star of the show. So, if anything, all credit goes to them for all they’ve put through for the show.

Overall Opinion

It’s a reality show that caters only to the action genre. The show does live up to its title and theme of creating a fight club, which may excite the viewers seeking that particular fantasy. The fourteen players all participate in the game with complete seriousness. The show lack in providing a satisfactory watching experience due to its lack of budget and production quality. But overall, if you’re a fight club fan, again, pun intended, you may look past all that and delve into the anticipation of who wins the money. The show is only eight episodes long, each episode a stretch of only half an hour on average, so it doesn’t bind you in a longer commitment. The fights are done pretty realistically and look professional. It might prove to be a helpful learning experience for people primarily interested in the combat industry.
