TV Show Digest

Niziu Project Season 2 was originally a Japanese Tv show jointly released by JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment. It is a survival show between the two. The show is the second series of the Japanese girl group named Nizi under the Nizi Project, which debuted in 2020. Season 2 of the series will form a new Japanese boy group. The season initially started as a motive to find girls in 8 cities in Japan to create a popular girl band. It was aimed globally with viewers worldwide.

The Feel-Good Part

Unlike most reality shows, this show is not focused on eliminations until the final episode. Instead, they focus mainly on training and efforts to make it successful. It is full of suspense till the end. The show is entertaining as the girls struggle to make their way in the girl group, and most of them end up being equally good as TWICE and IZ*ONE. They had similar talents and charisma.

The Disappointing Factor

As JYP is the host and plays a vital role in the show, some comments and judgments seemed harsh despite the excellent performances.

In-Depth Analysis

The show included a global audition held in 10 different locations, eight cities in Japan and the other two in Hawaii and LA. The winners of season 1 participated in season 2 and later in season 3. The group initially included 26 total members. The 14 members already chosen will get training in JYP in Korea for six months. After that, JYP will determine the last 9 members that will be in the final JYP Entertainment girl group. NiziU stands for “Needs (y) You.” Throughout the training, preparation, and performances, the trainees receive four new slots for puzzle pieces that were added to each of their necklaces that are granted when they “level up” their skills.

Star Power

Park Jin Young, the Main Host, performed his role well. Suzuno Miihi, Yamaguchi Mako, Katsumura Maya, Arai Ayaka, and Ikematsu Riria were some of the cast who played gracefully.

Overall Opinion

Overall, it is an entertaining show and also provides excellent suspense. Typically made in the pop culture theme, it is an excellent source of entertainment for all K-pop fans.
