TV Show Digest
The goal of this variety show and competition was to bring you new versions of well-known, award-winning songs by pairing up new and professional Chinese vocalists. There are four sets of vocalists, separated into Groups A and B, for a total of 8 pairs or 16 singers. The younger and older competitors choose their initial partners in a blind selection process. The passion for music is the central theme of this television show.
The Feel-Good Part
The songs performed will bring back many memories. We experience pleasant and happy feelings when we listen to classic works of art. The theme of collaborating between professional singers and new young singers is phenomenal.
The Disappointing Factor
The present generation of people is mostly attracted to new things and trending things. As the songs are old the television show may not get much attention.
In-Depth Analysis
Miriam Yeung, Joker Xue Zhi Qian, Chyi Chin, and George Lam are the first four senior singers, and Hu Xia, Eric Chou, Chui Na Lisa, Zhang Bi Chen, and Sunny are the first five junior singers- are introduced in episodes 1 and 2. The vocalists are matched in the following pairs: Eric Chou and Miriam Yeung, Chui Na Lisa and Joker Xue, Zhang Bi Chen and Chyi Chin, and Hu Xia and George Lam. The next, five younger singers- Liu Yu Ning, Wang Su Long, Xiao Yi Chun, Zhai Xiao Wen, and Meng Hui Yuan- as well as the following four older singers- Lui Fong, Da Zhang Wei, Penny Tai, and Bibi Zhou- are introduced in episodes 3 and 4. The pairing is as follows: Bibi Zhou and Xiao Yi Chun, Da Zhang Wei and Wang Su Long, Lui Fong and Zhai Xiao Wen, and Penny Tai and Liu Yu Ning.
Star Power
The professional singers are excellent and did a fantastic job collaborating with the new young singers and mentoring them about the music and song. The new young singers are also skillful and determined.
Overall Opinion
It is a fascinating and entertaining Chinese television show. It will appeal to viewers who enjoy listening to music. People’s memories are evoked by performances of classic tunes.
