Drama Digest

“Keep Running: Yellow River” is an adventure comedy networked by ZJTV. It aired in China from the 4th of December 2020 to the 8th of January 2021. The series is a sequel to the long-running show “Keep Running.” Keep running is a Chinese spin-off of the Korean series called “Running man.” Keep running has several alternate titles, namely: Running man China; and Hurry Up Brother. The series is an adventure comedy about the primary hosts of Keep running Season 8, returning to explore the Yellow River. Through their exploration of the nine provinces of the Yellow River, the hosts have to accustom themselves to the environment, culture, ecosystem, traditions, history, folk customs, and cuisine. They are required to do this through several games and missions, and joining them would be several other celebrities. Will the hosts be able to complete this exploration without losing their sanity?

The Feel-Good Part

The fun about the series is the numerous games and missions that are played. Each mission aims to keep the audience, hosts, guests, and crew entertained while teaching them about the province.

The Disappointing Factor

For all the people who are watching this series only for their favorite idols, the series may get boring. In this installment of Keep Running, even the main hosts only appear in some episodes due to their preoccupied schedules and the COVID-19 protocols.

In-Depth Analysis

The series being a spin-off of a famous Korean Show, the makers have to strive hard to reach the standard. In every installment of the Keep Running series, you will see new and innovative games and missions. At no point in any episode will you be bored. Furthermore, the star cast is powerful enough to keep you gripped when  losing a little bit of interest in the show. This series being the 9th installment of the Keep Running series, we also see the chemistry between the hosts causing us to be even more engrossed in the show. Being released during the time of the pandemic, the series gave a cosy feel to the viewers while making sure that they don’t miss the fun that they might not be having in the lockdown.

Star Power

The Star Power is powerful in this series. Whether it be the hosts or the guests, they are all famous. But what works more than the star power is the bond that they have with each other.

Overall Opinion

The series is a complete entertainer. Very rarely would there be a time when you would feel bored. The series makes you feel welcome and at home.
