Movie Digest
Cai Yan is one of the wildest and harshest pirates in the South Seas. One day after an incident, he loses his memory and is rescued and taken in by the monks who belong to the Shaolin temple. In the temple, he learns the customs of the monastery and the Kung Fu they practice. But the past always finds a way to return, and when the enemies attack the monastery and everything that Cai yan has built up over time is destroyed, it will be time to leave the monk’s clothes and resume the old customs as a pirate.
The Feel Good Part
The movie is quite enjoyable, with really fun and intense action sequences. Fan Siu-Wong and Hung Yan-Yan are two essential figures in the martial arts cinema of Hong Kong, this movie allows them to unleash their full potential in a film full of adventure just like they used to make in the olden times, but the action sequences include modern technology and techniques.
The Disappointing Factor
The storyline may come off as weak for some viewers. Like every other Chinese movie, the action scenes are a bit dramatic and exaggerated.
