Movie Digest
A tsunami strikes a gorgeous island resort hotel, bringing with it a massive, vicious shark. Four young kids. Diver Wang Lei, Lisa, as well as her new husband, and absurdly affluent young master Sonny are trapped in a flooded building with a shark. Whether they can escape the ravenous, voracious shark is a life or death situation.
The Feel-Good Part
The movie was a pretty good adventurous one with an ideal plot for a shark-like situation.
The Disappointing Factor
However, this film impacts you in a different way, and not in a pleasant one. Until the addition of special effects, everything was going swimmingly. particularly on the shark It makes the Jaws shark look real, which is saying something. The shark is shockingly good, a straightforward, mostly CGI design that doesn’t mess about. When it bites you, it bites you hard, and you usually succumb soon to a flood of computer-generated blood. The highest point is probably when it leaps through the hole knocked out by the characters to reach the entryway.
In-Depth Analysis
A tsunami hits a Thai Resort complex, trapping a mishmash of people in the hallways and rooms. The survivors are also threatened by a ravenous shark that has been drawn to the site. They cautiously make their way down the corridors, avoiding the lightning and, as is customary in this genre, endlessly bickering. Wang Lei, a freediving champion who fled the ocean after his wife was eaten by a shark, is the primary character. Except for obnoxious mogul Sonny, the rest of the cast is very uninteresting (Yang). He does show an aquatic version of the proverb that you don’t have to outrun the bear, just the guy next to you.
Star Power
They did a good job with the cast they chose. Sadly, they did not develop any emotional attachment to any of the characters, except for the main character, Yu Berlin, who may have been affected by what happened to his wife in the past. Although the cast was excellent, the film did not do these actors justice.
Overall Opinion
Though the idea of the plot was good, it needed improvement. Also, the special effects weren’t the best, considering the fact that it was released in 2020, which might ruin the movie experience for the viewers. It’s a good pass time if you have nothing better to watch.
