The ending is not as exciting and fun as the beginning and middle of the movie. The writer tried to fit in horror, mystery, and psychological theme. It made the story a little chaotic. The narrative does not live up to the film’s vibe and appearance.
In-Depth Analysis
This movie has some elements that are similar to The Shining. The hotel and the murky surroundings help to develop a horror effect. The storyline does not make sense, and the pace is slow. It creates so much confusion among the viewers. Since Yoo-mi was preparing for her job, she needed help with her half-sister, Yoon Ji-yoo. Their mother’s friend Kyung-sun owns a hotel, and Yoo-mi entrusted her. This haunted hotel has many mysterious events occur. The sisters together learn many shocking truths about the hotel. The movie relied on psychological horror and jump scares which were not very convincing.
Star Power
Lee So Young (Yoo-mi) and Park So Yi (Ji-yoo) portrayed a chaotic yet loving sister connection well. Park Ji Young (Kyung-sun) and others did a great job making the script lively.
Overall Opinion
It is just any other horror movie. Nothing so great, but it is not bad.
