The Confidence Man JP: Princess is a Japanese movie released in 2020. The movie is the sequel of The Confidence Man JP Special, which released in 2019. The movie tells the story of con artists Boku chan, Dako, and Richard. The story is set in the picturesque island of Malaysia, Langkawi, where the con artists target the Fuu Family for conning. The patriarch of the Fuu family, Raymond Fuu has left behind wealth of 10 trillion yen. The death of Raymond Fuu has provided an opportunity for the con artists to scam the family and get the inheritance left behind by the head of the family.

The Feel-Good Part

The movie has a ton of plot twists which will keep surprising the viewers with its unpredictable twists and turns. The actors of the movie deserve a shout out for the hard work of speaking different languages efficiently despite being a non-native speakers.

The Disappointing Factor

The movie started with a slow pace, even though it quickly grabbed the pace later.

The movie is one of the most entertaining movie with the theme of heist/conning. The well-written plot comes to life on-screen with the support of a good screenplay. The plot twists, especially, are the highlight of the movie, and till the very end of the movie it successfully manages to stay unpredictable. The plot twists are very well thought, and is tactfully layered upon the storyline, which makes the movie entertaining. The movie also sends out a positive message at its end, which leaves an impact on the audience of being beyond a fun-entertaining movie.

Star Power

Nagasawa Masami plays the role of Dako, Higashide Masahiro plays the role of Boku chan, Kohinata Fumiyo plays the role of Richard, and Sekimizu Nagisa plays the role of Kokuri and Michelle Fu. The supporting casts include actor Kote Shinya as Igarashi, Shibata Kyohei as Tony Ting, Vivian Hsu as Bridget Fu, Furukawa Yuuta as Christopher Fu, Shirahama Alan as Andrew Fu, and Eguchi Yosuke as Akaboshi Eisuke. There are several cameo appearances which include veteran actor Kitaoji Kinya as Raymond Fu, Miura Haruma as Jesse, Takigawa Eiji as Chobi Hige, Oda Lisa as Monaco, Takito Kenichi, Hirosue Ryoko, Dewi Soekarno, Hamada Mari, and many more. Tanaka Ryo and Kosawa Ryota are the director and screenwriter, respectively.

The Confidence Man JP: Princess is one of the best movies in the genre of heist/crime. Viewers will truly enjoy watching this movie because of its top-notch entertainment. The plot twists are layered in a way that you will not be able to predict the next scene, Kudos to the screenwriters! The actors have also done a great job in portraying their characters and learning foreign language with such proficiency. The ending of the movie sends out a heartwarming message that completely changes the mood of the movie.
