Movie Digest

This movie starts with the frame of female protagonist Umi (Mio Yuki) standing at the seaside and contemplating her past. In the third year of high school, umi got bizarre voicemails from a boy called Mahiro. She was confused and tried to call him back, but the number was not in use. So Umi told about these strange voicemails to her cousin Kosuke sakura(Atsuhiro Inukai), and he helped her by finding the address of the phone number. They went straight to the address and saw an abandoned house. At that time, Umi was not feeling well, so Kosuke took her to the seaside. And that fresh air makes her feel better.Later, she met Harukawa (Yuki Inoue), the male protagonist. All at once, he asked her to date him. But Umi refused. When the two got close, the mystery of Umi’s past emerged.

The Feel-Good Part

Starting of the movie kept the audience engaged. It tells us about love and abusive relationship. The way they took the film and the locations they used, like Japanese coastal towns, are quite pretty. It looked great. Especially the cinematography leaves an excellent impression on the audience.

The Disappointing Factor

The story is a super mystery, so it’s complicated to understand and makes the audience wonder why she got those strange voicemails. The movie’s theme is slightly dark, and the romance part is more diminutive. The movie genre is teen, romance but failed to produce more romantic scenes.

In-Depth Analysis

The movie is a mystery-Psychological one. It’s about both leads who suffered abuse in their childhood and that connect each other. Some scenes will get into your head and stay there for a long time. It is the second film by director Aya Igarashi. Her direction in this movie manages creative components and form.

Star Power

They took the whole movie toward our female protagonist, Umi. Actress Mio Yuki, who also acted in the remake of the famous anime Death Note, played this role. As usual, her acting was terrific and gained popularity. Actor Yuki Inoue played Harukawa in this movie. He played as a delinquent boy and did well in the psychological play. The emotions he carried made the film better and more enjoyable. Also, his confession towards the character Umi made his female fans go crazy. Then, Our handsome Actor Atsuhiro Inukai played Kosuke sakura. His role is pretty important. He’s like another pillar that carried this movie all along. The Screenplay and Direction of Aya Igarashi did a great job. The overall cast is fabulous.

Overall Opinion

In my opinion, It’s an excellent movie compared to those who hold their hands constantly. The rating given by the viewers is 7.4/10. But it’s worth 8/10. I liked the mystery parts in this movie, even though it’s pretty challenging to understand. But those scene urges us to watch the whole film. It involves more Psychological things. The Overall opinion is it’s a treat for fans who like Mystery-Psychological movies, but for others, it’s a one-time watchable movie.
