Movie Digest
Atsuko Takahata and Isao Hashizume have been married for 50 years. After getting retired, Isao has stayed at home. His wife complains and nags about that. They are at the edge of getting a divorce. Ayame Gouriki, their daughter runs a food truck. Masaru Mizuno is a daily customer of Ayame, and, is working as a funeral undertaker. Masaru invites Ayame to join him at Oshukatsu Fair. She tells her mother about it and they decide to go to the fair. Atsuko shares the information on preparing for death, to her husband, their relationship gets worse because her husband thinks, it is not propitious. What is the end of the couple’s end-of-life? The Feel-Good Part
The concept of bringing, the end-of-life with humor is peculiar. Movie puts a different and comical side of the life, after retirement. Some of the scenes are funny. An elderly couple making a furor about the end-of-life fair, that is organized by a funeral director. The amusing and comical encounters of a mature couple who overwhelms each other, and occasionally have a showy fight, nod, chuckle, and tears gush is exciting to watch. It can be enjoyed as a riotous comic extravaganza, chock full of drama, flaky humor, and an enchanting cast.
The Disappointing Factor
The Movie is unique, but, at times, the Movie becomes slow, and it feels like a regular story, where the parents are constantly bickering. The Movie feels like typical Asian Movie, where the family is suffering, but holding on to each other.
In-Depth Analysis
End-Of-Life Concierge has shown the reality of life of a family, after the retirement of the male. Casting is exquisitely intertwined and fits flawlessly in every part. The plot of a passing couple willing to share each other while they are alive is the true path itself, but the load of what an individual can do in a life span, the solace of a person’s activities modifying the destiny of a person, and beginning something new. It added dimension to the Movie. The Movie is funny, yet emotional. The willingness of a family to be with each other till last, is shown in the Movie. The struggle of a daughter to keep her parents together can be seen. The end-of-life concept is new, and the actors have done an outstanding job, by showing it efficiently on the screen.
Star Power
Atsuko and Isao have performed a remarkable role. Ayame and Masaru have performed an appreciable acting. Yuki and other supporting actors have done exceptionally well and have given fascinating performances.
Overall Opinion
End-Of-Life Concierge is a good Movie. It is not a sad Movie; it is a blend of comedy, drama and reality of life. It is an intriguing Movie to watch.
