Movie Digest

This story starts as Yamame Yamano, a comedian starts staying at the stigmatized property where a murder took place as his senior tells him that it will air on TV. There he goes through various abnormal occurrences. Kosaka, a girl who works in the same company as a makeup assistant helps him and she has the ability to see ghosts and helps him film the stigmatized properties.

The Feel-Good Part

The concept of a reality show in a haunted house is unique and the story is really interesting. They blended the horror genre with comedy which helps the people who are can’t handle horror scenes by making them less scary.

The Disappointing Factor

The horror elements are not up to par. The lead actress Nao kind of ruined the scary scenes with her acting. Her reaction to ghosts which is supposed to be a scared reaction looks awkward. There is no clarity regarding genre as we can’t decide if it is a horror film with a bit of comedy or a comedy film with a glimpse of horror.

In-Depth Analysis

Yamame Yamano is an unpopular comedian. One day, a TV director sees him and decides to hire him for his reality show. The show involves staying at a stigmatized property that is property which is haunted. He accepts the offer to seek fame and become successful. They managed to catch an abnormal occurrence while filming which makes the show popular. They continue the show as it became a hit and continue to visit stigmatized properties. Yamame and Nakai are a comedian duo and Kosaka is their only fangirl. Nakai wants to split their duo and wants to have a writing career as they didn’t hit off as comedians, which leaves Yamame with nothing. So he says ok to the stigmatized properties reality show. They all coincidentally end up in the same company and help him with his filming.

Star Power

There is more space to improve but the acting is good. Kazuya Kamenashi’s performance is debatable.

Overall Opinion

Overall the story is interesting and entertaining. It didn’t have scary elements. It may not satisfy the viewers who love more horror but it is good for those who like movies with fewer horror elements.
