Movie Digest
Two friends share the same flat in Tokyo; both of them are accomplished in their own lives. One of them is in fashion marketing and the other is an event manager. These two young women explore the changing cities and their societal roles until one day; when one of them becomes pregnant. She decides to give birth out of wedlock a very challenging decision that brings to her new changes that even she would not have seen coming her way. She has to take a break from her fashion marketing job and go through a change of aspects. What doesn’t leave her side is the friendship she has cherished. She is unknown but with this child, her relationships change and her friendship grows stronger and stronger with each passing day.
The Feel-Good Part
The bond between these two young women is the turnover of the movie. The best part is having a friend who stays with you through thick and thin. And in this movie, we see the friend we all wish to have. The soft Lo-fi aesthetic of this movie gives it a pleasant and dreamy effect that feels so soothing to the viewers. The new stylistic perspective and the blend of a cultural feministic element also catch the eyes of the viewers.
The Disappointing Part
As the movie shows the subtle stages of pregnancy and the changing relations of the friends it might seem slow. Even the camerawork for which it is so much praised can look complex to some these can only be a disappointing factor to some.
