In-Depth Analysis

The Extraordinary Pursuer is an action-adventure movie about a young woman who fights extraterrestrial creatures to restore peace on earth. She is trained in Kung fu and visits Tokyo to fulfill her dreams of a girl group. In her journey, she encounters extraterrestrial animals and wants to restore stability on the planet. She teams up with Omnyoji Hi Sou and amateur policeman Fujima. They are like-minded people who help her in her quest. Martial arts have always been emphasized in Chinese movies. They seem repetitive even though they are a deception of their culture. They have tried to add horror and comedy along with action and science fiction elements.

Star Power

The movie stars Ma Jian Yue who plays the lead role of Wu Xiao Ye, Hu Ning Lin, Nishikawa Kaoru and Kohei Murakami. The movie is co-written by Huang He, and Zhao Ruo Chen and directed by Yin Bo, also known for movies such as Demons Hunter.

Overall Opinion

Overall the movie has a very repetitive plot where the earth is plagued by creatures and the lead saves the planet. Regardless of how much you like action and martial arts, the movie is not worth your time.
