Movie Digest

This movie, Rat Disaster, is a fun horror movie about how Su Zheng Huai and his daughter fight against the rat monsters. Rats attack a passenger train. Su Zheng Huai’s son has been bitten along with several other passengers. To get the antidote from the hospital, Xiaobaihe, Zheng Huai, and his daughter, Su Ting, risk their lives. And that is where the thrilling adventure in the movie begins.

The Feel-Good Part

The movie is very well packed with the plot, there are some ups and downs, but if you can connect yourself with the characters’ feelings, it would be a good watch. The movie is filled with love and skill. It shows what a father does to save his son and what extremes they go to save people unknown to them. The movie has thrill and suspense mixed with tension, making it worth watching.

The Disappointing Factor

The movie lacks originality. The plot shown in the film has been used previously many times in other films and dramas. This led to the story becoming a bit inconsistent. In the technical aspect of the movie, we have a concept called CGI( Computer Generated Imagery). Using this concept, filmmakers show characters or things that cannot happen in real life. Scenes where the streets of the city were shot using CGI, look good, but the rest scenes look very bad and are also disappointing. The way the rats are showcased is terrifying. If you are afraid of rats, this movie will worsen it. The way the rat’s gruesomeness is portrayed makes people feel scared, even if they are not already scared by them.

In-Depth Analysis

As the train left the station, it was attacked by rats. Su Zheng Huai is a clerk in the department of health in China. He is going on the train with his son, Su Wei, and his eldest daughter, Su Yuexman. They meet their long-lost daughter of Su Zheng Hui, Su Ling, during their journey. The son gets bitten and faints. The movie progresses with Su Zheng Haui trying to go to the hospital nearby with his daughter Su Ling to get the medicine to cure the passengers who were bitten along with Su Wei. The story is about how the two characters risk their lives to save themselves and others from getting bitten or, worse, getting killed. It would be a better closing statement if the climax were a bit more moderate and less gruesome than it originally was.

Star Power

The character Su Zheng Haui was portrayed very well. The emotions need to be expressed as a father who saw his son pass out after being bitten by rats. The feelings were genuine. All the actors did a good job; maybe more depth could be added to it to make it more engaging. There was no exceptional performance as such, but the delivery was satisfactory.

Overall Opinion

The movie Rat Disaster had the original name of Junkrat Train. It has many other words; Rat Disaster was one of them. The movie, on the whole, has a good storyline but not a proper execution. I would recommend it be a one-time watchable; however, not many would agree
