Movie digest
A general of Shenzhou, Li Zhuifeng and some soldiers in Beipo city were surrounded by Shaman’s troops. The envoy of Gandang city was released intentionally by the leader of Shaman. Vice general of the Gandang city, Huang Zizai, understood that it was all planned by Shaman. He went alone to ask for help to save Li Zhuifeng and met many people of vision. They organized an army of 800 warriors. They finally met Li Zhuifeng after overcoming all the difficulties. After that, Shaman attacked again. The soldiers tried to guard the city regardless of their lives, and Huang Zizai, and the army were deeply moved. They worked together to resist Shaman’s army. Finally, Shenzhou’s army eliminated Shaman’s army.

The film had a decent tone that was acceptable. The production values of the movie were high. The efforts of the production team were noticeable.
The disappointing factor
It was a typical historical, action and war movie with no impressive action scenes. The movie was disappointing for me as I was not fond of the storyline. It felt illogical, a single person trying to rescue the general.

The movie is somewhat about politics. A general is trapped and surrounded by the enemy. His son-in-law won’t send troops as they were outnumbered. If the capital were left undefended, then the nation would fall. The son decided to reduce the general alone. They were all set to face death with 800 warriors. The movie had high production values, and some scenes were taken from unique angles. There were a few good ideas, but they didn’t pay off.
Star power
The cast was incredible. Their acting was top-notch, and it increased the value of the movie.
Overall opinion
The movie depends on the taste of the viewers. You may like it, or you may not. If you are interested in historical drama, then you can go ahead with Impasse Rescue.
