Movie Digest

Zhou Quan is a professional assassin. Chen Xiao Meng is a failing actor who is about to get kicked out of his apartment. Chen and Zhou cross paths in a sauna. Zhou trips and heads his hurt in the sauna, causing him amnesia. Chen sees an opportunity to start over and swiftly switches their locker keys. Chen does not realize that in addition to a dazzling wristwatch, a car, and a large sum of money, he is taking over Zhou’s high-skilled job.

The Feel-Good Part

This film has such eye-pleasing cinematography. It has all the elements of an action film with a touch of humor and romance.

The Disappointing Factor

The majority of the time, the humor element in the film falls out of the main plot. There are numerous subplots in the movie that lead nowhere.

In-Depth Analysis

This movie is the second remake of the 2012 Japanese movie Key of Life, the first one being in Korean. Endgame is not as funny or light-hearted as you might anticipate. But, it features a slow-moving plot with some entertaining events woven in. Zhou is a 60-year-old man, and Chen is around 30. With such age difference, swapping of identities is something nobody can fall for in the real world. The majority of the film focuses on these two guys adjusting to their new lifestyles, which is hilarious. The real fun in the movie begins when Zhou Quan slowly regains his memories and identity. Eventually, they both realize that all these incidents are a blessing in disguise for them to understand and appreciate their former lives. The cinematography and set design evoke a classic thriller mood, complete with plenty of red lights and typical mob gatherings.

Star Power

Andy Lau (Zhou Quan) plays a character that requires him to switch from a sophisticated assassin to a humble amnesiac person demonstrating how his traits play out in a different setting.

Overall Opinion

It is a good action film that will keep you entertained, from the start till the end!
