Nothing is as it seems. Is the story real, or are you being played? How does one find out the truth amidst the deceptions, and the tale that is painted? Who is good, and who is not? These are the questions that the hero Lu Sansi has to investigate and needs to get the answers before it is late.

Sansi is a young blacksmith who meets the brilliant swordsman Bali Wuyou and joins him in escorting He Qinying, a runner for the Western Depot. But He shares a different take to the story. She says that she is being mistreated by the Western Depot and in fact Wuyou is their runner who is taking her to them.

Everything around him is suspicious and he is not sure on the happenings. Before they reach their destination, Sansi has to find out the truth else might all go in vain.

The Feel-Good Part

The concept that everything is an illusion and none can be trusted is very promising. The perspective is quite incredible. The visuals are marvelous and the costumes on point.

The Disappointing Factor

The story gets predictable towards the end and the climax is nothing to write home about.  

In-Depth Analysis

What is the truth and who is to be trusted? The person you admire or the stranger who is convincing. How do you unveil it and get the bottom of it so that justice is served?

The lead Sansi has to face these challenges and surmount them. Sansi meets Wayou, the person he respects the most and is honored to serve him, only to realize that the person might not be the person he thinks he is.

Adding to the complexities of his situation is another character Qinying, the one who muddles Sansi’s brain. Is she playing mind games to escape or is she saying the truth?

Sansi looks into these complicated and complex puzzles in the movie.

Steve Sun leads the cast and is supported by the other members.
