Drama Digest

Ramnam is a beautiful woman, however, she is the daughter of a poor servant. The negative attitude regarding her humble origins has left her jaded and determined to reach the top so that no one has the audacity to look down on her again. Even if that came at the expense of other people.

She was adopted by Lue and Namping. Unbeknownst to everyone, she had fallen in love with Lue, her adoptive father. They both engage in an illicit affair, disregarding Namping’s happiness. To keep him to herself, she tries to convince his wife that he was unfaithful to her with many other women so that she can become his wife in her place.

However, Namping is in a league of her own. The CEO of a major business, she is quick-witted and quickly catches onto her lies. Shocked and enraged at their selfishness, she viciously sets about punishing her unfaithful husband and his mistress.

The Feel-Good Part

This is a classic revenge saga, so the series is a bit heavy with rage and manipulation. However, Namping’s methodical planning and single-minded determination to avenge her humiliation strike a chord with the dark sides of the viewer, and it is what makes them feel good. Besides the ending is the best part of the series and it sends a powerful message.

The Disappointing Factor

The series is well written and carried out. There is not a single disappointing factor about it.

In-Depth Analysis

Cheating spouses and revenge sagas are nothing new, but what sets this series apart is the way it was handled and executed. The story was well written and well-paced. The characters are not caricatured; you can see the efforts made to make them complex and nuanced.

The wronged person doesn’t ruin herself for revenge. She is practical and calm, despite her heartbreak and betrayal, and doesn’t let the situation overwhelm her easily. She uses her intellect and business savvy to turn the situation on itself.

Ramnam was very infuriating, but at the same time, she was also very relatable. She wasn’t selfish without a reason, her suffering wasn’t something that many people can overcome, especially in such a selfish society. Also, it was very clear why she became the kind of person she did.

Rather than portray the antagonists as evil and powerful, the show makes them human. They fully suffer the consequences of their horrible actions, and since the protagonist is so intelligent, they are not able to get away with anything. Unlike many other lakorns or Thai soap dramas, the antagonists are not just forgiven because of the good nature of the people they have hurt. They pay for everything they do.

The camerawork and music were beautiful. The leads were likable and greatly complemented each other’s performance. The changing dynamics between all the characters were very well portrayed. The wardrobe has been well-selected and the actors were gorgeous.

Star Power

Everyone from the leads to the supporting characters was wonderful. Woranuch Bhirombhakdi, Ausadaporn Siriwattanakul, Peter Corp Dyrendal, and Jirayu Tantrakul were excellently cast and they have carried the story on masterfully. Nappon Gomarachun, Kratip Chawallakorn Wanthanapisitkul, Claudia Chakrabandhu Na Ayudya, Kanjanaporn Plodpai, and Witaya Wasukraipaisarn also gave some wonderful performances.

Overall Opinion

I think the series is very well made. People will love watching it. I have a soft spot for psychological dramas, and this series has managed to appeal to that spot.
