Drama Digest

Made under the direction of renowned Torpong Tunkamhang, Jao Sao Jum Loey (เจ้าสาวจําเลย) is a Thai drama series that aired on 16th February 2021 to 13th April 2021. This overly dramatic television series extends up to seventeen series, with each episode of an hour and twenty-three minutes. Before tuning into it, it is advisable to know about the content rating, which is 18+ with depictions of violence and profanities.

The Feel-Good Part

The story opens up with a forced marriage in the lead female actor’s life. Barely able to escape her drastic fate, she finds solace with Sichon. One of the first things that enrapture is the soundtrack. The male lead had the opportunity to lend his voice to one of the original soundtracks in Jao Sao Jum Loey. Another distinct point that stays with us is the enticing plot with steamy romance on the side. It is self-fulfilling to see the leads fight and find in the end to love each other.

The Disappointing Factor

With this routine storyline, Jao Sao Lum Loey fails to make a distinct spot for itself in the drama industry. There are many television series with a similar narrative style. Moreover, the toxicity of the couple is another aspect to beware of. The aggressiveness of the male lead puts off the mood of the drama.

In-Depth Analysis

To pay off an enormous debt, Ingjan’s close ones try to marry their only daughter to an agreed wealthy person. They go to such extremes that they drug her one evening, forcing her wed an unknown person. However, Ingjan manages to escape her designed wedding and stumbles upon another man, who seems to be passing by. Under the effect of the drugs, she pleads with him to take her someplace safe, where the couple ends up making out. What further entails is a match-making series of events between the two. There is also a spin-off series of the same franchise named Jao Sao Jum Yorm / เจ้าสาวจำยอม (2018).

Star Power

The spicy yet tearful drama series involves some talented actors who grip us with unique talents, being released this year. The line-up includes Hana Lewis as Ingjan/ “Jan,” BigM Krittarit Butprom as Sichon, Chingching Kharittha Sungsaopath as Tungpaeng, Fifa Premanan Sripanich, Ploy Randapa Muntalumpa as Thipaha, Sa Anisa Nugraha as Mekhala, Pol Poonpat Attapanyapol as Mekhin, Jeep Wasu Saengsingkaeo as Atithep, Tom Nahathai Pichitra as Prakaidao, Jeab Paweena Charivsakul as Saisamon, Prakasit Bosuwan as Thanom, Jib Chalermporn Pumpanwong as Mongkol, Noon Daran Thitakawin, and Kengkaj Narongsak Angkabb as Kong.

Overall Opinion

Although it is a big binge-watch, the drama can be watched if you are stuck in a drama fog. The passionate love of the two is one thing you could look forward to if you decide to watch.
