Drama Digest

Good Old Days Soft Opening (Special) offers behind-the-scenes footage of the “good old days” in the form of interviews with the cast.

The Feel-Good Part

The show itself was very well written with great depth to characters and intricate storytelling. The cast interviews allowed the viewers to understand the actors’ thought process to embody the characters. The behind-the-scenes allowed the viewers to catch glimpse of the making of different scenes and stories.

The Disappointing Factor

Nothing was disappointing in this special episode. The only thing we can point out is the single episode with a runtime of 47 minutes is not enough for all the behind-the-scenes and backstage stories.

In-Depth Analysis

Good Old Days Soft Opening (Special) offers behind-the-scenes footage of the “good old days” in the form of interviews with the cast. Good Old Days is the story of an antique shop where every item has a story attached to it. Those who sell here can commemorate their lives and buyers can see the hidden value in them. Six stories of memories, fondness, aspirations, and goodbyes, are all linked by six things. While the series resolves things at the end of the series, none of the stories have a happy ending at this point, and that’s okay. It makes the story and the characters more realistic and more relatable. Each of the six stories stands on its own, but all are connected to Hey’s ongoing storyline as a shopkeeper. The show deals with a lot of difficult issues but in a very down-to-earth way. It would be very easy to have objects in the background of the story and follow the characters, but all the objects have a lot of meaning and you can feel it. In some stories the object is central to the story, in others it is hidden in the background but always present. It is a show that makes you think and think about life and how people deal with their problems.

Star Power

With such a cast it’s hard to mention all the actors and actresses but I think they all did a great job and gave a great performance. I especially like Chris and his role as the shopkeeper.
