Drama digest

This is a recent Thai boys’ love drama. It features the main gay couple as well as one of the lead’s father as a gay man too. It is an ordinarily interesting story of the lives of two boys and the people around them.

The Feel-good part

The most appealing part of the drama is the visuals of the leads. Both of them are amazingly pretty and suit each other as a couple. The portrayal of an adult real-life gay couple was another highlight of the story.

The disappointing factor

As good as the visuals are, the story is stupid. After all, it’s an ordinary story coming from Thailand that only focuses on the love scenes of the guys and not the character building or the story. The episodes are a bit too long for a story like that.

In-depth analysis

Aiyaret, the lead of the drama, portrayed by Meen Nichakoon, plays a high school student who stays in Canada along with his father. Aiyaret, often referred to as ‘Ai,’ is a mischievous person who likes to avoid discipline. One day after being expelled from his school for his mischief, his father decides to relocate permanently to their native country, Thailand, along with Ai. Ai’s father is a professor, and he makes Ai seek admission to the university where he is a teacher in Thailand. Ai denies shifting to Thailand, but his father forces him to relocate. After coming to Thailand, Ai’s father seeks admission for Ai as soon as they arrive. Ai doesn’t like to study and becomes grumpy after his father takes him to see the college. On the very first day, Ai gets a crush on a guy. This guy is the second lead of the series, and his name is Nhai. Nhai is a mischievous and talkative brat who’s unserious most of the time. After learning that he’s in the same class as Nhai, Ai tries to get closer to Nhai. Soon, he knows that Nhai is not really interested in men. This makes him pull away a bit. But with time feelings develop between the two of them and they fall for each other. One of the most interesting points of the story is that Ai’s father, Sippakorn, is also a gay man. He’s married to another man named ‘Jaonan.’ Looking at the inspiration of his father as being openly homosexual, sexuality has never been a problem for Ai. Later in the story, a twist regarding Ai’s mother comes to light which leads to other interesting events. This is the story of Ai and Nhai through all.

Star power

The best part of the drama was the couple of Sippakorn, Ai’s father, and his partner, Jaonan. Their real-life names are Porsch and Arm, respectively, and they are a real-life couple and have been married for 13 years. Hence, they are an inspiration to the people of the LGBTQ+ community.

Overall opinion

The show overall is nothing new and is a decent approach toward homosexual stories. The story gets sloppy, unnecessary, and stupid at a lot of times which can or cannot be ignored.
