Drama Digest

Beautiful woman Choi Sang-Eun (Park Min Young) is talented and charming. She is a master of contract marriages. Her role is to facilitate her client’s ideal single life. For each of her customers, she changes. For the past five years, she has had a marriage contract running on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with her customer Jung Ji-Ho (Ko Gyung Pyo). Jung Ji Ho is a shady character. Actor Kang Hae Jin (Kim Jae Young), her latest customer, is well-known. He and she are under a marriage contract every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. As a result of her involvement with her two clients, Choi Sang-Eun finds herself in a love triangle.

The Feel-Good Part

The beginning of the drama show was an eye candy with such talented and good-looking people who are just getting introduced to the viewers and additionally, the second leads and other couples shined more that than the show’s main leads.

The Disappointing Factor

The lack of chemistry between the main characters, in addition to the poorly written script, is what I believe made the second half of the movie unbearable to watch. For me, the FM and the second lead worked better together, and not for “second lead’s sympathy” reasons; rather, their pairing felt energizing and compensated for the lack of chemistry between the endgame couple. Also, I believe their stories would have generated a lot more intriguing occurrences and plotlines than what has been presented to us thus far. Although I was shocked by the LGBTQ+ representation, I felt that it lacked something and was toned down, much like the majority of the sub plot lines.

In-Depth Analysis

Choi Sang Eun (Park Min Young), who is undeniably lovely, gifted, and endearing, is the epitome of the ideal spouse. This is precisely why she decides to use her abilities as a contract marriage master rather than being married. Sang Eun makes herself into the ideal companion for each of her clients, enabling people who hire her to live the ideal single life without being required to commit to a committed, permanent commitment. Sang Eun has been providing her services to Jung Ji Ho (Go Kyung Pyo) for the past five years every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Ji Ho knows very little about Sang Eun, a man steeped in mystery, but that doesn’t stop her from having some rather surprising sentiments for him. The equally unexpected feelings she’s recently experienced for one of her newest customers, Kang Hae Jin, are making her life even more challenging (Kim Jae Young). Hae Jin is a well-known actor who works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and she frequently makes Sang Eun’s heart flutter. Torn between her professional obligations and the feelings she harbors for both Ji Ho and Hae Jin, Sang Eun finds herself in an unexpected predicament. How can she possibly maintain her professionalism when her heart is leading her in two different directions? An interesting take on relationships and romance, “Love in Contract” is a 2022 South Korean romantic drama directed by Nam Sung Woo.

Star Power

The star-studded cast, which includes Park Min Young, Go Kyung Pyo, and Kim Jae Young, exist just to be visual treats for the viewers, and their acting was definitely not up to the mark, especially Park Min Young.

Overall Opinion

This is a great drama if you enjoy the contractual relationship troupe that is famous in Korean dramas, but if you’re looking for something new, then this might not be it.
