Drama Digest

A serial killer struck in the horrible explosion in the city in 1984. But in 2019, the replicas of those crimes went to the lantern.  A team of Jae Hwan, a detective, Yoo Jin, a profiler, Dr Joong, a surgeon, are appointed to solve the cases. The primary suspect goes by Chimera, after the beast in Greek mythology. It had a lion’s head, a goat’s body and the tail of a fire-breathing serpent. First, they have to excavate the secrets to grab the criminal that links these cases.

 The Feel-Good Part

In no way, this drama is a bad script. The cinematography is well handled as per the dark theme of the script. The overall plot and story are good. The screenwriting, organisation and progression are also attractive.

The Disappointing Factor

The drama is slow, and screen-editing is a significant shortcoming of this theatre. The time and synchronisation of the drama at some points is poor. There are minor imperfections, but they are acceptable. The way they explained Chimera and people comprehended in those storylines felt a bit weird and disconnected.

In-Depth Analysis

Chimera is a mythical character, illustrated as a monster fire-breathing hybrid of three animals. The drama is based on a bizarre creature that has its main culprit, that simmers people alive. After 35 years of the Chimera case, another tragedy which takes place is comparable to the prior one and presumed to be attached. The story leads to a destination catching the main culprit. A junior detective, Cha Jae Hwan, is quick-witted and specified to his job. Lee Joong Yeop, a neurosurgeon in Seoul, was accepted to America at a young age after an unfortunate event with his family. Eugene Hathaway, an FBI profiler, was also adopted to England and downgraded to Korea after imposing a mistake. Kim Hyo Kyung, newsroom ace at UBS news, is a responsible columnist who is always after the truth. The sequence of the events and the way stories are intertwined fascinatingly. The initial plots are predictable. The way they explained about Chimera and people absorbed in those storylines for the last two episodes felt a bit of a weird disconnected. The mystery revolving around the preliminary hardship provoked Chimera to commit fire-centric murders in inventive manners using chemistry and intelligence as enactment tools.

 Star Power

The casting choice was good. The performances of the tors enriched the show. The character development was presented decently.
