Drama Digest

Born Again is a drama that is a mixture of mystery, and romance with two different timelines. Born Again is a story from the 1980s where a woman and two men are involved. The drama shows their involvement yet again in the present day through luck, fate, and reincarnation. It is the story of a detective, a lover of the detective, and a serial killer. The serial killer has a liking for the love of the detective. It is a mystery and dramatic story that involves many cliffhangers, thrill, and romance between the characters. It is an addictive and thrilling drama that leaves you with many questions, such as, is he a psychopath or a serial killer? Did he kill her? Watch this Korean drama to know more about it.

The Feel-Good Part

The best part about born again is that it involves many different elements. These elements consist of mystery, love triangle, psychological melodrama and reincarnation. It has so many emotions that make one continue the whole drama in one go. It is so addictive that it leaves you thinking, “What’s going to happen next?”.  The actors play their roles in such a realistic manner that it makes you wonder if you’re watching a drama or a reality show. Another good quality of this show is that even though it involves dark themes, it is not violent. It is one of the most underrated Korean dramas.

The Disappointing Factor

The most annoying part of the whole drama is the female lead. Her character does not make any sense, and there is not any character growth. It is difficult to understand her and what she will do next. Most of the audience hated the female character in this show. The show lacked emotions and was very different, not at all mesmerizing. The story revolves around psychopaths and also involves romanticizing stalking, which creates a mess.

In-Depth Analysis

Born again is a story of a detective, his lover, and a serial killer interested in the detective’s lover. It involves two timelines, one being when the characters first meet in 1986 and the second being thirty-two years later when they reincarnated and meet again in 2020. Their death in 1986 opened a new door for them. In 2020, the drama showed their second life, which involves a lot of psychopathic behavior and terrible relationships. It is the story of three people tangled with each other and play an essential role in each other’s lives in both timelines. It is a show which is addicting and, at the exact time, makes you hate it.

Star Power

Jang KiYong, who played the role of Kong JiCheol, is one of the perfect actors. His acting is what made the show worth watching. Lee SoHyuk, who played Cha HyungBin, is also a big star of the show. His acting brought life to the show. Most of the audience who did not like the plot continued to watch the show only for him and his acting. Jin SeYeon, who played Jung SaBin, has also maintained a balance between romance and mystery. These three characters brought the utmost entertainment to the show.

Overall Opinion

Born Again is definitely worth the watch. However, it involves a dark and messed-up storyline. It is not for those audiences who like soft, cute and romantic dramas. If you love reincarnation and mystery, you’ll definitely like this one. However, it doesn’t involve a happy ending with the person everyone wished the female lead ended with. It is another reason some hated the drama. This drama is also very entertaining and underrated.
