Drama Digest

Best Mistake Season 2 is the sequel to the 2019 hit series, Best Mistake. Season 2 tells the story of high school students who get tangled up with each other. Best Mistake Season 2 is a light-hearted romantic comedy youth drama. The second season continues the plotline of the first season. Kim Yeon Doo and Ji Hyun Ho are in a stable relationship when Choi Seung Hyun arrives in the scene, hence forming a love triangle.

The Feel-Good Part

Best Mistake Season 2 is a light-hearted fluffy romantic comedy with a decent plotline. The story will keep you intrigued and entertained. The best part of this season is that the original characters remain while new characters are added to the second season.

The Disappointing Factor

Comparatively, the second season of Big Mistake is not as entertaining as the first season. Some fans of the first season might not like the breakup angle included in the second season. The acting was not great but not bad either.

In-Depth Analysis

The plot tells the story of a diligent high school student, Kim Yeon Doo, who somehow ended up being in a relationship with one of the most popular and mischievous students, Ji Hyun Ho. Throughout their relationship, Ji Hyun Ho changes for the better, and maintains a steady relationship. However, the entrance of baseball ace Choi Seung Hyun, introduces trouble in paradise. Choi Seung Hyun falls in love with Kim Yeon Doo. Ji Hyun Ho, on the other hand, misinterprets that Kim Yeon Doo reciprocates Choi Seung Hyun’s feelings. The series also shows the feelings of first love throughout high school life and simultaneously other characters going through the feeling of love.

Star Power

While the second season of Big Mistake retains some of its original cast, there is also the addition of new characters in the second season. Lee Eun Jae plays the role of Kim Yeon Doo, Kang Yul plays the role of Ji Hyun Ho and Lee Jung Joon plays the role of Choi Seung Hyun. Park E Hyun plays the role of Ryu Seol and Yoon Jun Won plays the role of Seo Joo Ho. The supporting cast includes Yang Yoo Jin as Yun Ah Ra, Choe Chan Yi as Jung Ji Sung, Joo Hyun Young as Ahn Yu Na, Keum Dong Hyun as Kang Ah Hoon, Go Woo Jin as Heo Jin Soo. Lee Hyeong Seok plays the guest role of Baek Se Chan.

Overall Opinion

Many fans would agree that the first season was better. The second season got a bit repetitive in terms of the plotline except in some aspects.  The series got Messier as the story unfolded, which could have been avoided by the production. This high school romance drama somehow justified the theme, and overall it is an excellent series to watch if you are a fan of the teen-love genre.
