Drama Digest

This is a collection of four different stories that explore different humans leading different lives. The first chapter explores the story of a Ginza, the second chapter explores an office worker, the third chapter explores the dangers of a delivery app, and the fourth chapter explores how a call can make two people get to know each other.

The Feel-good Part

Japanese shows know how to make viewers feel a wide range of emotions. The viewers will be left feeling all kinds of emotions in the short 2 hours and 10 minutes that they are going to be watching this.

The Disappointing Factor

Due to the time constraint, the show was not able to deeply explore each of the stories it has built up, and as a result, it failed to truly accomplish what it aimed to do. And therefore, this is something that should have been worked on and thought about.

In-depth Analysis

First Chapter: This or That Ginza

A Japanese millionaire is captured by Yusuke Hatori and his father Akio in a Ginza park, and they decide to imprison him at their house. As Yusuke decides to retain it as a birthday present, Mitsuko, his mother, is disappointed but supports him. Yet, Japanese billionaires live a highly problematic lifestyle and are quite picky about Ginza, only using dinnerware and food that they have purchased in Ginza. The tale of this “wealthy man” and Yusuke’s peculiar summer starts here.

Second chapter: Sing along to the melody.

Kanoumi Murano, an office worker, develops the peculiar illness known as “brain melody syndrome” all of a sudden. If she does not behave in line with the music that is playing in her brain, her brain would react improperly, perhaps killing her. Kanoumi is helpless against the tunes of various genres playing in her head wherever she goes, whether she is in a conference or heading home, as there is no cure for this rare sickness that has only a few cases. One day, Mitsuru Shindo, who is rumored to be a weirdo at her job, meets Kanoumi, who is terrified of not knowing when a tune will play in her head.

Third Chapter: Otodokemono (Delivery)

One evening, “Otodokemono” is the app that web designer Takuya Yamabe and nurse Yukari Yamabe happen to uncover when searching for a delivery app on their smartphones. The app was fantastic and could quickly supply anything you asked for. Although Takuya is wary of this program, he uses it anyway and places an order. The intercom at the front door then rang, and a sexy-looking delivery lady arrived moments later to deliver the order. They are taken aback by how rapidly it functions and gradually get attracted to the program, using it often.

Fourth Chapter: Pretending to be on a call.

To avoid harassment, Nozomi Kawasaki poses as being “on a call” with her father. She pretended to be on a phone call with her father as usual when a pick-up man arrived one night, but he saw right through her and took her phone. The man listened to Nozomi’s phone and discovered that she was in fact in touch with her father, who had passed away when she was just 11 years old.
