Drama Digest –

Murakami Maiko is a shy and homely girl who isn’t eager to find someone to have a romantic relationship with and get married. She decided to go for matchmaking sessions and her father Genichiro recommended Hanasato Harumi, who is the owner of a company. She is thrilled to meet him for the first time and is impressed by his simple and honest behaviour. She decides to marry him. The age gap of 20 years and the fact that Harumi is a divorcee do not come between their love and marriage life.

The Feel-Good Part –

Harumi and Maiko’s relationship is unique and fresh to watch. Their huge age gap and differences in life don’t come between their love and their understanding of each other. Maiko quickly realises that love is built on honest and straightforward behaviour for each other, along with care and pure and straightforward intentions. There are no significant misunderstandings and issues between them and they trust each other no matter what. The story feels honest and real in every sense.

The Disappointing Factor –

There are no major plot twists, and drama surrounding the main characters, which is dull and tiresome to watch for a particular viewer bracket. A simple love story with no such unique factor except the age gap can be uninteresting to watch compared to competing for thrilling dramas being made. The past flashbacks shown for Maiko had some annoying characters who didn’t make sense at all. The main framework of this dream is unrealistic, as no parent would prefer to marry off his daughter to an older man.

In-Depth Analysis –

The honest conversations made in the drama about good understanding in a couple regardless of their difference in age gap is applauded. A slice of life story like this is so rare to watch, where the story mainly sticks to natural and authentic plots is impressive. The fact that Maiko is in love with Harumi is also heartwarming and beautiful to watch. The pop culture references of such couples having huge age gaps are also informative enough to baffle the audience. The gap of age doesn’t come in between their love and compatibility at all. Even love triangle also involved in this drama.

Star Power –

Maiko is a straightforward and honest girl who is deep-rooted to her family and her life. She already lives in a reality of not being able to find her soulmate by dating, like most youngsters her age. She is rational and looks for authenticity in the best way for Harumi. Harumi, on the other hand, is a simple, straightforward and honest man with no ego of his money and status. Being divorced doesn’t stop him from giving love a chance again, and therefore, he decides to marry Maiko. He is honest and overall a lovely man.

Overall Opinion –

A different take on a romantic tale is worth watching!
