Drama Digest:

One day, the editor-in-chief of a woman’s magazine approaches Yumi Adachi with a proposal to work on a series about throwing away a personal belonging in each issue, based on the theme of disposal of personal possessions and living more comfortably. That night, Adachi-san falls asleep like always but has an unusual dream where a mysterious girl and the personification of the items she has kept appear one after another in her dream, asking her to be disposed of.

The Feel-Good Part:

The drama has a way with scenes. There are scenes with the protagonist just doing her work that give the show a more realistic and charming edge. It’s nice to watch the main character doing her work; it makes the show more relatable and makes the characters more real, giving the viewer ways to know the character through her mannerisms and behavior in her day-to-day life.

The Disappointing Factor:

The plot can feel silly at times. Even with the mystery element of the plot, at times, the story feels a bit silly and plain at times. Some of the objects to be thrown don’t hold as much depth as the others do and make the show feel too simple. There are certain points that could have more effort added to be more meaningful.

In-Depth Analysis:

This show has a unique and very interesting plot. The idea of personifying objects that one possesses is a very interesting concept and the show does a good job delivering on that. The cinematography is quite exquisite with this drama, and the lighting and music during the dreams are done so well. It was very pleasing to watch. The show portrays everything with realism even though there are supernatural elements, that’s the strong suit of this drama; it creates a very interesting plot but stays grounded, giving the viewer the best of both worlds. There’s so much depth to the characters from the beginning, they’re very well crafted and the cast adds to that.

Star Power:

The cast is amazing for this show. The protagonist adds depth to her character, and the supporting cast, especially the people playing the personification of the belongings, did a perfect job. It can be difficult to capture that essence and play such absurd roles, but the cast delivers. Even the child actor does a perfect job.

Overall Opinion:

This show is such a beautiful watch; the concepts and the way those ideas are presented are flawless. The production is so good, this show is quite underrated. It manages to work out everything without decreasing the quality, or wit.
