Drama Digest
“Kamisama No Ekohiiki” is adapted from the manga of the same name. Yashiro and Kenta are close friends. Yashiro visits an unfrequented shrine every day and prays for confidence to confess his feeling to the person he likes. The deity of the shrine and his subordinate Ukon find him fascinating and watch over him. They find that the person Yashiro likes is a guy. Nakahara Kenta and Yashiro are best friends, Yashiro gets rejected by Kenta yet he tries to joke around as if he is not hurt. Yashiro gets into an accident right after that, the deity decides to give him another chance so he gives Yashiro a girl’s body. The story unfolds as we see Yashiro lives as Kagura.
The Feel-Good Part
The characters are very adorable. The way Kenta realizes his feelings for Yashiro and refuses to settle with the girl version of Yashiro even if he knows it’s him. He thinks that it is not the same Yashiro that he knew. Their bromance is very wholesome.
The Disappointing Factor
The only disappointing point is that the last episode is rushed while they tried to keep up to the order of manga, the clumsy editing is what made it look rushed.

They get surprised as they found out that the person Yashiro likes is a guy. Yashiro gets rejected yet he tries to joke around Kenta as if he is not hurt. Right after that, Yashiro gets into an accident, the deity decides to give him another chance so he grants Yashiro’s wish to become a girl. He enters the body of a girl named Kagura. At first, he tries to win over Kenta thinking he could do it as a girl. Later he finds out shocking things about himself and his plan to make Kenta fall for him goes astray. This story conveys that “In any shape or form, I will always love you”.
Star Power
All the actors did an outstanding job. Their image suits the personality of the characters. Fujiwara Taiyu and Sakurada Hiyori did a great playing their body swap personalities.
Overall Opinion
Overall, it is a creative and interesting story. It tells us that love is not about gender. In the series, both acting and plot are good, despite being fantasy the characters are relatable. It is fun and worth watching.
