Drama Digest
Gibia is a disease that has infected the world and is turning people into different types of monsters. A samurai and a ninja time travel and appear in a wrecked Japan to assist a professor working on the cure for the virus. They fight countless fierce foes on their journey to save humanity.
The Feel-Good Part
The plot and the storyline are different from most anime. The script is solid and the plot and character development becomes more and more evident as the series progresses. Its soundtrack is incredible and the OP is excellent.
The Disappointing Factor
The CGI is disappointing and the quality is poor. The plotline gets too predictable and seems inane at times, and the animation is pretty cringe. With stiff energy and frigid fights, the show lacks the required intensity to live up to its classification in the genre of action.
Star Power
Being an anime series, the show does not have a starcast, but the voiceovers were well executed.
In-Depth Analysis
The series is set in a grim and dark Japan when a virus called “Gibia” is wreaking havoc and infecting humans all over the world. The infected people turn into monsters based on their age and race. The interaction between the characters does not seem very natural. When the two protagonists time-travel from the past to this dystopian future, one seems to question if there is any truth to it while the other willingly believes everything around him and goes with the flow.
Overall Opinion
It’s a ‘watch it if you have got nothing better to do with your life’ kind of anime. But a heads up if you are going to watch it: it’s too predictable, you’ll get a fair idea of the climax beforehand.
